Job Description
ROLE: IT Senior Engineer
The Senior IT Engineer at Guided Outsourcing plays a pivotal role in managing and enhancing IT infrastructure, ensuring seamless operations, and contributing to the development and execution of IT strategies. As a senior member of IT team, you will be responsible for providing technical leadership, resolving complex IT issues, and driving technology initiatives to support the company's growth and objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Server Operating Systems & Network Infrastructure:
Architecting, Installation, configuration and troubleshooting
o Configure file, print and remote access services
o Basic administration, including add/remove users and groups, configure file permissions,
check event logs, configure and restore from backup
Enterprise E-mail
o Installation, configuration and troubleshooting of clients, including remote clients
o Extreme administration of enterprise e-mail application, including add/remove users
and group, configure folder permissions if applicable, forward mail to other accounts,
and add aliases, replication and Clustering
o Experienced with email migrations from tenant to tenant
Workstation
o Required: Windows, Apple a plus
o Troubleshooting and configuration
o Automating configuration of standard mail and messaging clients including Outlook
o Automating installation configuration, and customization of MS Office Suite applications
per customer's preferences
o Solid understanding of and ability to install, configure and test workstation hardware
including video cards, NICs, sound cards, hard drives, smartphones and tablets
Datacenter Technologies
o Working Knowledge of SQL Clustering
o Working Knowledge of Enterprise Backup Systems
o Working Knowledge of High Availability load balancing solutions
o Working Knowledge of Hyper-V, VMware and other virtualization technologies
o Working Knowledge of Exchange Clustering
o Working Knowledge of SAN architecture
o Working Knowledge / Certification in Citrix Technologies
Cloud Infrastructure
o Working knowledge of either or both Microsoft Azure or Amazon AWS
o Working knowledge of M365 components such as Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint,
Intune, Security & Compliance, and ATP
Other Preferred Technical Knowledge
o Solid understanding of and ability to configure TCP/IP subnetting and troubleshooting
Internet connectivity
o Experience with and understanding of routers and firewalls
o Experience and understanding of Remote Desktop Services & Citrix
o Understanding of relationship between routers, switches, patch panels and connecting
nodes to a network
o Understanding of DNS services
o Understanding of High Availability / Load Balancing solutions
o Understanding of Wireless technologies
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Advanced knowledge of Meraki networking environment
Working knowledge of non-Cisco firewall technologies - SonicWALL, Sophos, Juniper,
Fortinet, WatchGuard
Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server
Working knowledge of wireless technologies Controller vs controllerless, mesh technology,
SSID management, signal encryption, dynamic VLAN, RADIUS authentication
Working knowledge of security fundamentals endpoint protection, MFA, EDR/XDR, SOC,
phishing, threat management
Credentials and Experience:
Engineer with minimum six years experience
Minimum 4 years experience - Active Directory Support, Microsoft Windows and Windows
Server Support, Microsoft Exchange Support
Minimum 4 years experience Meraki Switching/VLAN/Routing/Firewalling Support
Minimum 4 years experience - Mobile device support (Android and Apple)
Minimum 4 years experience - Server Hardware Technologies (CPU/RAID/SCSI) Support
Minimum 4 years experience - Data Backup and Recovery Support, Corporate Antivirus
Support, VPN Connectivity Support
Have multiple certifications, high skill level. The following certifications are preferred: M365
Certified Enterprise Administrator Expert/M365 (Security/Messaging/Teams) Associate,
CCNA/CCDA/CCVP/CCIE, VCP, Project+, Network+, Security+
