Assist the Partners and Senior Associates in conducting legal and factual research on assigned cases and topics;
Draft pleadings, contracts, and other legal documents;
Interview and prepare witnesses for court and administrative proceedings;
Litigate intellectual property and commercial law cases, present witnesses, and negotiate with opposing counsels;
Address and/or manage the intellectual property needs of clients by drafting, negotiating, interpreting and advising clients on intellectual property-related documents;
Proactively report their progress on assigned engagements to Senior Associates and Partners;
File and prosecute trademark, patent and other IP applications in the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines; monitor and comply with deadlines for extensions, renewals, and maintenance (e.g. DAUs, annual fees, etc.);
Supervise IP paralegals and manage IP client office docket and files; and
Accomplish office forms and administrative requirements in a timely manner.
Must be a member of good standing of the Philippine Bar;
Candidate must be a graduate of any of the Top Law Schools in the Philippines;
With at least two (2) years of work experience in private practice or in government service and with background or experience in intellectual property law practice
Excellent communication, research, and analytical skills;
Must be a team player, results-oriented, and can work with tight deadlines;
Must be organized and can pay close attention to details when reading legal documents;
Able to work under minimal supervision;
Candidates are expected to be able to review contracts and draft pleadings and advisory opinions;
Comprehends complex matters and identifies laws that are applicable to the case; and
Can follow strict privacy guidelines and actively work on a resolution with the team to identify solutions for legal problems and present new ideas.
