Job Description:
The general role of the Instrumentation and Electrical Engineer (IEE) is to ensure that all instrumented assets owned by UPPI are functioning according to design and maintained according to the risk based maintenance approach. He is also responsible for the execution of break down maintenance, trouble shooting, calibration as well as other works required as a result of technical and surveillance inspection for all instrumented and electrical systems.
He/She shall perform the scheduled Surveillance Inspection of all instrumented and electrical assets in the facility according to the site Equipment Maintenance Program and shall monitor the execution of Technical Inspection by specialty Contractor based on the site EMP schedule. Part of his/her role is to raise Purchase Request for corrective works needed as a result of the Surveillance and Technical Inspection activity.
The IEE is the first point of contact for instrumented and electrical asset breakdown maintenance and shall perform scope evaluation to determine the correct breakdown maintenance scope to be performed by maintenance contractor.
He/She shall review and challenge scope recommendations and cost proposals for maintenance work taking into consideration his knowledge of the equipment and cost efficient methodology available.
He/She shall be the Contractor focal for all instrumented and electrical works including preventive maintenance, calibration, correction, expansion and new projects. Site PM Contractor electrician shall report to the IEE.
He/She shall maintain all electrical and instrumentation diagrams, making sure that the office and plant copies are updated and that any changes/additions are reflected in a timely manner.
The Instrumentation and Electrical Engineer will report to the Quality and Asset Integrity Lead. He will coordinate with the Facilities Engineer for Operations for the timely execution of PM and breakdown works.
From time to time, he will be asked to support/review drawings and execution activities part of the Project Team under PIL - Ops.
