Job Purpose:
Will provide a technical role in the Instrumentation & Control Engineering Department with due diligence in planning, preparation, and supervision of conceptual studies, front-end engineering and design, detailed engineering and design for EPC, mid-cap, and workshare projects.
Job Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation & Control Engineering is a must. Certified Instrumentation & Control Engineer (CICE) by Philippine Instrumentation & Control Society (PICS) is an added advantage.
Has at least 7 years of solid Instrumentation and Control Engineering and design experience in Oil and Gas, Petrochemical, Power, and other process-related industrial plants or facilities. Knowledge and/or design experience in Food & Beverages, Consumer Products, and related industries is an advantage.
Design experience in industrial control systems (hardware and software) such as DCS, PLC, SCADA, and APC (advanced process control) systems will be an advantage.
Construction, testing, and commissioning experience is an added asset but not required.
Membership in the Philippine Instrumentation and Control Society (PICS) is desirable.
Ensures that the company's Administrative, Human Resources, and Safety rules and regulations are followed at all times.
Willing to work extended hours as per project requirements.
Available for field assignments locally and/or overseas.
Perform all other duties that may be assigned by the immediate superior.
Job Description:
Perform engineering documentation, specifications, and tasks such as Instrumentation Datasheets, engineering procedures, calculations, Design Basis, FEED studies, Construction Bid packages, Cost Estimates, Vendor/Contractor Document Reviews, RFQ, TBE, HAZOP, P&ID development, and others.
Preparation, checking and review of I&C deliverables as but not limited to Control Philosophy, System Architecture, Cause & Effect Diagram, Logic Diagram, Alarm & Trip Settings, Index, I/O list, Fire & Gas drawings, Location Plans, Cable Routing Plans, Control Room layouts, Hook-up drawings, Cable Schedule, Junction Box wiring diagrams, Connection drawings, and Schematics, Block Diagrams, Loop Diagrams, Instrument Grounding, Bill of Materials, and others.
Perform, check and review I&C calculations and sizing such as control valve, PSV, PSE, Orifice, FE calculation, Thermowell wake frequency calculation, DP Level Transmitter, Instrument Air consumption, valve stroke speed calculation, analyzer sample lag time calculation, cable sizing, cable trench, and tray fill and loading calculation, Fieldbus segment calculation, IS loop calculation, heat dissipation calculation.
Knowledge and experience in Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS), Safety Instrumented Functions (SIF), Safety Interlock Logic (SIL) calculations, ESD Control Philosophy, and Fire & Gas Control Philosophy is an advantage.
Incorporation to design package the local and international standards such as ISA, API, IEC, ANSI, NEMA, IEEE, BS, 3-A, cGMP, and other industry and client-specific codes and standards.
Use of Instrumentation and Control Engineering software such as Smartplant Instrumentation (Intools), InstruCalc, Vendor sizing toolkits, and other software/calculation tools. Use of 2D and 3D design software such as AutoCAD, Microstation, PDMS, E3D, and similar software. Knowledgeable in MS Office is a must.
