Job Purpose:
The primary responsibilities in this role are to support the strategic and tactical efforts in the design, development and delivery of programs at Vistaprint (e.g. Onboarding, Orientation, Leadership Programs and Performance Management Courses). The Instructional Designer role focuses on designing and developing training content. This position requires knowledge and expertise in adult learning theories, instructional design and e-learning content development.
Additionally, the Instructional Designer will form strong partnerships with subject matter experts to assess performance needs and make learning and non-learning recommendations to enhance organization performance. As part of the Learning & Development Team, this role will be involved in conducting ongoing evaluations and assessments to ensure the effectiveness of programs, recommending/implementing modifications as necessary.
Key Responsibilities/Duties
Create compelling course content (both e-learning and ILT) and engaging learning activities that stick; Identifies best instructional design techniques/modality to ensure maximum learner retention
Updates training content, as needed, in a timely manner to reflect business changes
Create supporting material/media (audio, video, simulations, role playing, games, etc.)
Conduct instructional research and analysis on learners and contexts to identify new development needs and recommends training methods accordingly; provide and evaluate course analytics to determine future course improvements
Engages with global counterparts as part of the Instructional Design guild. Supports global CARE Instructional Design needs based on business requirements and requests.
Maintains in-depth and up-to-date knowledge of the related field. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures; Apply tested instructional design theories, practice and methods
Create a criteria to use in judging a learners performance and develop assessment instruments; Measures the impact the training had on employee knowledge/behavior and business results
Maintain project documentation and course files
Adhoc tasks, as required
Experience & Qualification
Ability to operate independently, with the decision-making skills needed to function in potentially high-stress situations
Solid attention to detail and follow-through skills
Superior written and verbal English language skills
Excellent time management and organizational skills
Training/ facilitation experience is a plus
3+ years' experience in training design and e-learning content development
Experience in BPO Industry preferred
Some experience with multimedia authoring tools, such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Captivate, and Camtasia
Ability to put complex data, reports into simple and actionable terms and presentations
Strong in MS Office and Office 360 Tools (Excel, Powerpoint, Sharepoint)
Minimum Skills Requirements
Excellent command of adult learning principles & instructional design frameworks
Proven track record of content creation on a wide range of topics
Experience with multimedia authoring tools, such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Captivate, Camtasia, Articulate 360
Self-starter, autonomous and strategic.
Strong communication & interpersonal skills
Research Skills
Advance Business Communication Skills
Relevant experience in the role.
Can work at home and onsite.
Internet Connectivity and Suitable Working Environment.
Amenable to shifting schedule to cater global requirements.
