What Will You Do?
Operating and monitoring computer equipment.
Performing routine tasks to maintain computer equipment and their peripherals.
Loading peripheral equipment such as tapes and printer paper for operating runs.
Troubleshooting computer problems, determining source of problems, and advising on appropriate action.
What Do You Need To Succeed?
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience preferred. Typically requires a minimum of 2 years of related experience.
Strong level of proficiency in the use of keyboard and basic computer applications gained through related experience.
Strong knowledge of computer hardware and peripheral operations.
Ability to read, understand and follow manuals and procedures written in technical language.
Knowledge and application of advanced concepts, practices and procedures of particular field of specialization.
Ability to adapt procedures, processes, tools, equipment and techniques to meet the more complex requirements of the position.
Ability to perform under minimal supervision.
Ability to perform work that is varied and possibly difficult in nature, but usually within limited responsibility.
Assisting in mentoring and training lower level employees.
Resolving most questions and problems, and referring only the most complex issues to higher levels.
