The "TB Innovations and Health Systems Strengthening" (TBIHSS) project is a 5-year USAID funded project that aims to strengthen national and regional level implementation of the National TB Strategic Plan by providing state-of-the-art capacity building and technical expertise to scale-up TB and DR-TB prevention, detection and treatment. The Activity will identify and help implement proven approaches to improve TB prevention, increase TB case detection rates, decrease default rates, and increase TB treatment success rates and TB cure rates.
the IT Associate will support end-users, internal users, or partners in their IT-related concerns and in the implementation of project-level activities. Serves as the liaison between the FHI 360 Information Solutions and Services (ISS) and the end-user on issues related to desktop computers, laptops, printers, network connectivity, and remote access. Also, provides first-line support to end-users for PC, server or mainframe applications, and hardware. Simulates or recreates a process to resolve operating difficulties and may interact with network services, software systems engineering, and/or applications development to restore service and/or identify and correct core problems. Prepares PCs for deployment and provide education and/or training to end-user. Handles basic support of hardware, applications and operating systems, technical consultation, and networking.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supports project activities to build project management/delivery capacity, including but not limited to implementation of innovative interventions and online/digital activities.
Handles basic support of hardware, software, applications and operating systems, network printers and scanners, technical consultation, and networking.
Performs software installation on computers and configures applications as specified.
Plans and implements scheduled maintenance upgrades and software upgrades when necessary.
Serves as a productive project team member by completing assigned tasks.
Provides desktop/user support and IT user training and documentation.
Ensures data back-up or disaster recovery plan and regular updates on applications.
Has working knowledge and understanding with a variety of technologies to support end-users effectively.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Information Technology, or any related course.
3 to 5 years of experience providing end-user phone support for current PC desktop and application software or installing, upgrading, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing personal computers in a network environment.
Prior work experience in a non-governmental organization (NGO) preferred. Equivalent combination of education and experience considered.
May require at least 25% travel to support project sites.
SKILLS
Operating System: Windows 10, Windows Server 2012/2016 or Higher.
Server Applications: Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, IIS, FTP, VPN.MS. Exchange Cloud/Exchange 2010/2013 Mail, Azure Backup system, Windows Security Update Service (WSUS) and Firewall.
Proficiency with MS Office Suite 2016 and 2019, Office 365, and other applications.
Solid knowledge and experience with incident management and operations services tools and systems.
Basic understanding of ITs industry practices and ability to learn and improve IT knowledge and skills.
Basic knowledge of Cisco routers/switches and other networking devices. A willingness to increase knowledge and update skills as required.
Able to setup Desk phone and Understanding PABX system
Excellent skills in oral and written communication. Ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with all levels of staff, individuals from diverse cultures, and the public.
Ability to multi-task and self-motivate through assignments and routines.
Ability to interact with a broad range of end-users and use various technical resources to provide support.
