Job Description
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for promoting, securing and maintaining accreditation of SGS Philippines by DOLE as a consulting organization and provider of Work Environment Measurement (WEM) services.
Provide consulting services related to occupational industrial hygiene, health and safety compliance and programs to client companies.
Business Development of the Health and Safety and Industrial Hygiene related services of the EHS Division.
Support the Division's Quality Assuarnce & Safety Manager in QHSE related tasks.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
To assist, advise or guide the employer in the development and implementation of Safety and Health Program in the workplace.
Be the lead in establishing the management system for the EHS Business' Industrial Hygiene and WEM services with support from Operations team.
Ensure compliance of the EHS Business' Industrial Hygiene and WEM services to DOLE accreditation requirements
Ensure that the conduct of Work Environment Measurement(WEM) are based on DOLE prescribed or internationally recognized methods of measurements
To ensure a comprehensive and reliable WEM report including appropriate recommendations
Point contact person of DOLE related to the Industrial Hygiene and WEM services of EHS.
Signatory to all IH and WEM Service reports.
Perform QHSE tasks in line with the company's direction on ISO standards, and regularly communicate with National's QM team.
Consultancy Services Related Responsibilities * Aassist, advise or guide the employer/clients in the development and implementation of Safety and Health Program in the workplace, including OHS related legal compliance.
To assist the company in compliance with accreditation-related requirements and activities
Acts in an advisory capacity on matters pertaining to health and safety for the guidance of the employer/clients and their workers depending on scope of the consultancy work.
Coordinates all health and safety training programs for the employees and employer.
Provides assistance to government agencies in the conduct of safety and health inspection, accident investigation or any other related programs.
Provide support to the EHS Director, Sales and Marketing team in growing the Industrial Hygiene and WEM services.
Performs other related duties as may be assigned either in support of departmental goals or for his/her personal or professional training, education or development as programmed by his/her immediate superior.
Complies with the QHSE policies including but not limited to:
Demonstrates strong commitment to SGS QHSE Policies, Procedures, and Work Instructions by participating in safety meetings, completing required training, intervening in unsafe situations, refusing unsafe work, and complying fully with all applicable laws and regulations related to QHSE.
Responds appropriately to emergency situations and assists other staff members in maintaining readiness to respond to emergencies within the workplace.
In accordance with the SGS QHSE Management System requirements, disposes of, or directs the disposal of, waste generated as a part of daily work performed in a safe manner and in compliance with all waste transportation and disposal regulations and requirements.
Reports all incidents (actual incidents and near misses) in accordance with the SGS Incident Reporting requirements.
Uses all equipment (including safety equipment) in the manner intended and reports any damaged / lost equipment to supervisor.
Maintain a safe and tidy worksite.
Maintains awareness of hazards and proposes controls to supervisor, QHSE Representatives or relevant client / site contact.
Actively participates in incident investigations and risk assessments as deemed necessary by SGS management.
Qualifications
Profile
Education: College graduate (BS Chemistry, Environmental Science, Chemical Engineering or any science-related course) with professional license, depending on the course taken.
Experience: 3-5 years in HSE work or 1-2 years supervisory or related experience.
Must be DOLE accredited Health and Safety Practitioner with specialization in industrial hygiene
Must have 40 Hour Basic Industrial Hygiene(IH) training or 40 hours IH related training.
REQUIRED SKILLS
Experience/Technical Knowledge
Keyboard skills; skilled in the use of excel, word, powerpoint; attention to details; with strong analytical skills; problem-solving skills; auditing skills.
Leasdership Skills - Interpersonal, planning, organizing, coordinating,coaching and motivating skills.
One to two years experience on WEM sampling is a plus
Language
Fluent in English (both written and verbal)
