Summary
Human Resources Risk and Compliance Analyst providing global support for HR Risk and Compliance programs, including researching and tracking employment laws, documenting processes designed to ensure compliance with applicable laws, monitoring and testing documented processes, and other duties, as assigned. Highly organized, project oriented individual that pays attention to detail and can handle multiple projects simultaneously. Time management is essential.
Major Duties
Assists global and regional HR Risk and Compliance Officers in execution of Northern Trust's HR Risk and Compliance programs.
Carries out and develops overall plan for HR Risk and Compliance monitoring and testing activities.
Researches, tracks, and reports changes in laws and regulations.
Supports the implementation and documentation of processes designed to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Interfaces with compliance officers, business management, legal, and other stakeholders to review and escalate potential compliance issues.
Recommends improvements to relevant processes and procedures.
Prepares reporting (metrics) on HR Risk and Compliance programs, policies, and processes.
Maintains knowledge of industry practices and regulatory changes relevant to employment laws and regulations.
Knowledge/Skills
In-depth functional / industry knowledge
Risk management, compliance, and/or legal background preferred. Institutional knowledge a definite plus.
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Exceptional knowledge of Excel.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Ability to multi-task, prioritize work and strong organizational skills are required to ensure deadlines are met
Able to develop and articulate strategy for process improvement
Works effectively as a team member but can also work independently.
Project Management skills helpful.
Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality/discretion
