The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the housekeeping department. This role ensures that all guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness, orderliness, and safety. The Housekeeping Supervisor will lead and manage the housekeeping team, ensuring they perform their duties effectively and efficiently while upholding the company's service standards and operational policies.
 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
 
SUPERVISION AND TEAM MANAGEMENT
Supervise, train, and motivate housekeeping staff to deliver top-quality service and maintain cleanliness standards.
Assign daily cleaning tasks to housekeeping staff based on occupancy and requirements.
Monitor staff performance, provide coaching, and conduct regular performance evaluations.
Ensure that all housekeeping staff are compliant with safety and hygiene standards.
Lead by example to foster a team-oriented, positive work environment.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE STANDARD
Ensure that all guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas are cleaned and maintained according to company standards.
Inspect guest rooms, corridors, and public areas to ensure cleanliness and proper maintenance.
Ensure that the housekeeping team uses cleaning equipment, chemicals, and supplies according to company safety guidelines.
Monitor inventory levels of cleaning supplies and report any shortages or needs to the manager.
GUEST SATISFACTION
Respond promptly to guest requests and complaints, ensuring issues are resolved in a timely and courteous manner.
Ensure that guest rooms are prepared according to guest preferences and hotel standards.
Coordinate with other departments (e.g., front desk, maintenance) to fulfill guest requests and special requirements.
ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES
Maintain records of daily housekeeping operations, including staff schedules, room cleaning logs, and supply usage.
Prepare reports on inventory, staff performance, and departmental needs.
Conduct daily briefings to update staff on tasks, VIP guests, and special cleaning projects.
HEALTH AND SAFETY
Ensure all housekeeping staff are trained in health and safety standards, including emergency procedures and the proper use of cleaning chemicals.
Adhere to all company policies regarding hygiene, safety protocols, and security.
Conduct regular safety inspections to ensure compliance with local health regulations and company standards.
INVENTORY CONTROL
Monitor and maintain inventory of cleaning supplies, linens, and guest amenities.
Coordinate with the purchasing department to ensure timely restocking of necessary items.
Ensure that equipment and tools are in proper working condition and report any damages for repair or replacement.
SPECIAL PROJECTS
Oversee special cleaning projects (e.g., seasonal deep cleaning, post-event clean-up).
Assist in the implementation of new housekeeping procedures or systems to improve efficiency or guest satisfaction.
