MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR
 
The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily maintenance and repair operations of the hotel to ensure all facilities, equipment, and guest areas are safe, functional, and well-maintained. This role supervises maintenance staff, coordinates preventive maintenance programs, and ensures compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations applicable in the Philippines.
 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervise and participate in daily maintenance activities including electrical, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and painting works.
Ensure timely repair of guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house facilities, and staff housing (if applicable).
Conduct regular inspections of hotel facilities to identify maintenance issues and safety hazards.
Maintain critical equipment such as generators, chillers, boilers, pumps, elevators (in coordination with accredited service providers), and water treatment systems.
Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency situations.
Implement and monitor a preventive maintenance (PM) program to minimize equipment downtime and extend asset life.
Maintain accurate maintenance logs, checklists, and service records.
Coordinate scheduled servicing with third-party contractors and suppliers.
Supervise, train, and assign tasks to maintenance technicians and helpers.
Ensure staff follow proper safety procedures, use PPE, and comply with hotel policies.
Assist in evaluating staff performance and recommending training or disciplinary actions.
Ensure compliance with local regulations and standards
Support fire life safety programs, emergency preparedness, and drills.
Ensure proper handling and storage of tools, chemicals, and equipment.
Coordinate closely with Front Office, Housekeeping, and Food & Beverage departments to minimize guest disruption.
Assist in preparing maintenance reports, work orders, and budget inputs.
Recommend repairs, replacements, and improvements to hotel facilities and systems.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduate of vocational, technical, or college course in Engineering, Electrical, Mechanical, or related field.
TESDA certification is an advantage (e.g., Electrical Installation & Maintenance, RAC Servicing, etc.).
Safety Officer certification is a plus.
Minimum of 3-5 years of maintenance experience, preferably in a hotel, resort, or commercial building.
At least 1-2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
Strong knowledge of building systems (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical).
Basic computer skills (email, maintenance tracking systems).
Good leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Able to work on shifting schedules, weekends, and holidays.
Physically fit and able to respond to emergencies.
