The Opportunity: HOME HEALTH CODER (FULLY REMOTE WORK)
 
The Home Health Coder is responsible for assigning accurate ICD-10-CM codes to diagnoses, procedures, and treatments documented in patients' clinical records. The role ensures that all coding complies with current coding guidelines and standards, supporting accurate billing and quality documentation.
 
Key Responsibilities:
Review clinical documentation and assign appropriate ICD-10-CM codes for each diagnosis, procedure, and treatment
Ensure that assigned codes align with CMS guidelines, accurately reflecting patients' clinical status and plan of care.
Collaborate with clinical staff to clarify diagnoses or documentation as needed, ensuring accurate and comprehensive coding.
Stay updated on CMS coding regulations, ICD-10 coding guidelines, and Medicare requirements.
Conduct regular audits of coded records to ensure compliance and accuracy.
WHAT IT TAKES
Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Physical Therapy, Medical Technology, Respiratory Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Radiologic Therapy, Pharmacy, Biology or other Medical Allied Health courses
With active PRC license a plus
Proven experience in ICD9/10 coding & CPT code
AAPC Member (Certified Professional Coder)
Coding certification (e.g., HCS-D, CCS, CPC) is a plus
Knowledge of billing and coding processes
Familiarity with Home Health regulations
Must be analytically inclined and detailed-oriented
Willing to work night shift
