Job Description
Main Responsibilities:
Responsible for overseeing all accounting activities and the financial reporting functions of Accountants and Accounting Manager with the primary purpose of providing timely, accurate, and complete financial reports to the Board of Directors, EXCOM, and regulatory agencies.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversee the accounting department and the financial reporting functions of accountants and accounting managers.
Reviews and Approves daily accounting transactions for each company.
Reviews the supporting schedules (ledger accounts) with that of trial balance accounts as well as the financial statement prepared by the accountants to ensure accuracy and completeness of the report.
Presents and reports the financial position of the company during the monthly EXCOM Meeting.
Prepares the monthly accounting ratio report to be used as the basis for management decisions.
Prepare annual budget and forecast aligned to strategic plans and in accordance with the approved budget of each department/team.
Initiates installation of Internal control within the department and ensures sound implementation of said control.
Acts as a final reviewer of the Risk-Based Capital Adequacy (RBCA) report, Statement of Condition (SOC), Fee-Based reports, BDFS, IHFS, Progress Reports, and other regulatory reports and ensures prompt submission thereof to the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Capital Markets Integrity Corporation, the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, the Bureau of Internal Revenue and other regulatory agencies, as applicable.
Acts as a final reviewer of various tax returns prior to payment and filing thereof to the Bureau of Internal Revenue.
Ensure that an appropriate financial policy framework in the company is in place.
Conducts regular accounting meetings to thresh out accounting issues.
Hires, disciplines, transfers, dismiss employees under his direct supervision subject to existing guidelines
Other tasks that may be assigned from time to time that will support organizational goals and objectives.
Minimum Qualifications
Must be a Certified Public Accountant ( CPA)
With a minimum of 10 years of experience in accounting
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with fluctuating priorities and deadlines.
Ability to work without direct supervision, and efficiently manage tasks and time.
Must be detail-oriented with excellent communications, interpersonal, and oral/written presentation skills and have the ability to manage staff and lead projects/teams independently.
Supervision of staff involved in accounts receivable, accounts payable, fixed assets, tax, revenue assurance, budgets, and inventory has to be carried out by the accounting head along with the fielding of special projects. As an accounting head, one has to also prepare monthly/quarterly budget variance analyses and revised budgets as required.
Strong financial analysis skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
To effectively oversee their accounting team, accounting managers need strong management skills. They direct team assignments to ensure the team meets the organization's goals.
At the management level, accountants contribute to their organization's long-term goals by proposing methods to improve efficiency and lower costs, which requires strong planning skills..
