Description :
Input on new product MRDs and definitions
Review and approve board MRDs from an operations perspective - understanding what is in the kit, how it will be procured, how it will be packaged, and how it will be tested.
Supplier / vendor and partner management
Qualify new suppliers, including not only turnkey board manufacturing, but accessory suppliers and kitting operations as well - including on-site visits as appropriate
Work directly with silicon partners who supply free devices for use in Lattice boards. Coordinate with Marketing, who co-owns these relationships.
Project Management support
Work closely with Solutions Project manager to make sure all deliverables are completed per the Evaluation Board development process.
Hardware Product Releases
Ensure a clean, formal release process with Lattice applications; that we have a completed release checklist for each released revision of each hardware product, and all internal Lattice customer needs are met; that all source files are updated and available for reference as needed.
Coordinate and work with operations to ensure that all actions and materials required for release are completed (e.g. OPN and BOM setup)
Coordinate and work with Marketing to ensure that all actions and materials required for release are completed (e.g. printed documentation, customer letters, etc)
Implement & maintain a revision control system for all board PCB revisions, BOM revisions, and component substitutions.
Work with our manufacturers to keep our assembly BOMs aligned, including which devices are "Lattice supplied" - for each of these, we need a clear part number, alternates, and plan.
Planning / operations support
Review all vendor quotes for technical accuracy, and close with vendors and Applications engineering on any component substitutions or design changes. Ensure that these inputs are documented as required.
Hardware Testing
Work with Lattice Applications to define a test procedure for each board, which applications will develop.
Maintain the testing procedure, source files, and bitstream. Work with Lattice applications and the manufacturer to debug and revise as needed.
Product Maintenance
Close with Applications on any updates required to board documentation to clarify or fix issues discovered on released boards.
Revision control
RMA approval, receipt, analysis and corrective actions
Support EOL process - archiving old boards and working with stakeholders to ensure a proper EOL process is implemented.
