Responsible for the timely preparation of documents necessary for all phases of grant processing and management which includes applications, concept papers, evaluation, budgets estimates, fund disbursements, and contracts/agreement consistent with the grant and program requirements;
Performs grant-related post-award functions, including budget and expense analysis, periodic invoicing, financial reporting, reconciliations, re-budgeting
Prepares accurate and timely financial reports on grants for internal management purposes
Participates in sharing and planning meeting to discuss and address issues related to grants programme implementation
Assists in the provision of technical and logistical support in the grants review to ensure it is in compliance with URC and USAID policies, financial guidelines and budget requirements
Conducts occasional field visits in accordance with the monitoring and evaluation plan and in coordination with other technical team officers
Assists in the development of and maintains the system of a database of sub-grantee including a tracking system that provides frequent updates on fund-lows, reporting requirements, audits, contract deliverables and budget revisions.
Reviews program reports from sub grantees to ensure that the grantees have good appreciation of the terms and condition of the subgrant agreement as well as the performance of clauses and other standard provisions in the administration and management of the grant;
Reviews financial reports from sub grantees to ensure that the funds were utilized in accordance with the budget and in compliance with USAID rules and regulations;
Required Experience & Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting or finance.
5 years' experience in supporting USAID or other donor funded grants coordination, administration, management and oversight
Experience previously working on USAID projects in a Grants Officer or similar capacity
Familiarity with USAID Grants Management policies and procedures
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing and local languages
