Job Summary
The Director of Global Sourcing and Production creates and implements sourcing plans to discover reliable, cost effective purchasing options both domestically and internationally. An important aspect of this role is maximizing supplier performance and support the company's business plan for our advanced Operations.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties
● Discover and qualify new manufacturers and suppliers to produce desired items
● Manage factories to ensure development, sampling and production orders are completed to quality standards within their deadline.
● Create development, sampling and production timelines in Zoho Projects and assign each party their role. Manage peers to ensure project deadlines are met.
● Regional travel to factories (in mainland china) to qualify quality of work, quality check production and manage MCL/ET contacts for projects.
● Request ocean/air freight quote to compare costs between competitors and purchase freight to ensure goods arrive as scheduled. Provide all documents needed to clear goods and coordinate the delivery of all items to MCL's 3PLs.
● Manage 3rd party logistics company for Easy Treezy to ensure bills are correct, physical inventory and account inventory match and all items are shipping out in the allowed me frame.
● Review Fedex and UPS domestic account charges to verify MCL/ET has been billed correctly. If charges are incorrect, dispute charges with the vendor and create a written explanation on why the charges are not accurate. ● Discover reliable domestic shipping partners for LTL (Less than truckload) and TL (truckload) domestic freight. Purchase freight and coordinate shipments to be picked up and arrive as schedule from vendors. ● Purchase all approved POs for domestic and international suppliers.
Qualifications
● Can speak Mandarin
● College education
● Extreme attention to detail
● Tech savvy to manage all activities and project on Cloud based software.
● Experience working with Chinese factories
● Experience in international logistics
● Ability to self manage and find new vendors
● Fluent written and verbal English communication
