Job Description
Perform general ledger functions, be keen on details, assure accuracy, first-time quality submission, timeliness, and conformity with professional accounting standards and best practices in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
Identify, interpret, and analyze potential accounting risks and issues. Can work under pressure and handle ad hoc requests.
Research and analyze accounting transactions and contracts.
Identify and execute internal controls, SOX compliance, and financial procedures.
Partner with Finance to determine the accounting implications of transactions and perform analytical analyses to utilize when making all material business decisions.
Assist with internal and external financial reporting, including analyzing consolidated results, drafting SEC documents and management review reports, ensuring quality, and administering strict timelines.
Evaluate current accounting practices and policies and drive continuous improvement.
Can manage the stakeholder and do the job without supervision.
Research and interpret new accounting standards and brainstorm how each applies to GM, as well as comply with external 10-Q/10-K reporting requirements.
Additional Job Description
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accountancy or similar discipline
CPA certification would be advantageous
Minimum 4-5 years of relevant experience in accounting
Appreciation of multi-national corporation requirements in driving operational compliance and excellence
Prior shared service engagement experience - either directly or indirectly gained through client services
With Knowledge in SAP system
Competent in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP)
Excellent analytical and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of in situations where only limited standardization exists
Can work with minimal supervision
Technical/Non-technical Knowledge
Oracle/Hyperion user
Advanced MS Excel knowledge
Vast knowledge of SAP
Flexibility in work hours to accommodate other countries/time zones
