JOB PURPOSE:
The job objective of the Financial Planning Associate is to assist the Financial Planning Analyst in providing support to Management by gathering data and information towards the completion of a base budget, generate, accurately maintain and timely submit budget and related reports, monitor budget actualization, maintain and provide support on budget tools, systems and financial plan initiatives.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * ACCURATE AND TIMELY BUDGET AND RELATED REPORTS
Responsible for obtaining details from Finance teams to prepare and consolidate various reports, including but not limited to:
Monthly Management Report
Operating Expense (OPEX) projection for Forward Plan, BUD, 1RE, 2RE and 3RE
Budget Hyperion uploads and downloads
WD10/WD20 reports and Hyperion uploads
SAP budget uploads for all business units
Responsible for uploading/downloading information in SAP and Hyperion
Achieve an acceptable level of accuracy of OPEX projections of budget cycles against actual results including phasing. Budget cycles shall include the quarterly updates/revisions as well as the monthly flash reports.
Update and maintain historical information on P&L movements
Provide assistance to business leads in monitoring their budget commitments for the year by ensuring an accurate and updated monitoring of actual numbers
Monitor the usage of approved budgets and provide appropriate disposition for unused budget or excess usage.
2. INSIGHTFUL BUDGET ANALYSIS
Prepare Monthly and Quarterly Closing Variance Analysis vs Budget for OPEX
Provide budget details for deck presentation and periodic reporting to regional management
Monitor OPEX budgets versus actual and provide insightful and well-crafted variance analysis
3. COMMERCIAL FINANCE ASSISTANCE
Report to Sr. Commercial Finance Analyst where assistance is required in Business Units
Coordinate with SRS Analyst and HR (where necessary) to compute hourly rates
Review of FTE hours and fee calculation
Prepare pricing proposals in accordance with the tenets of value-based pricing
Monitor the progress of the proposals through close coordination with accounts, clients, and management, if necessary, as well as updating the status updated in the commercial dashboard
Preparation of special finance requirements from clients (e.g. reporting requirements for global clients)
4. TEAM EFFECTIVENESS AND EFFICIENCY
Collaborate with other teams to obtain required data or provide required input to financial planning/reporting
Constantly review processes and aim to improve and streamline workflow, data gathering, report generation and records archiving
Develop meaningful individual goals that support agency and department priorities including clear measure of performance that is in line with MWG standards.
Be prepared for meetings and learn internal dynamics during meetings; share and propose ideas during brainstorming sessions
Help maintain a work environment that consistently espouses strong work ethics
Work directly with the superior for any other tasks assigned

Required Experience
QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Preferably a Certified Public Accountant
Accounting graduate
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a related field or assignment
