Description
The Financial Accountant is responsible for the integrity of financial data in the general ledger, departmental and project data. The Financial Accountant is responsible for ensuring that the firm's record-keeping and control practices comply with government standards and that all compliance obligations of the firm are met. The Financial Accountant is integral to the successful completion of the month-end process in a timely and accurate manner.
Essential Functions
Execute against the month-end process.
Ensuring data accuracy in the accounts and compliance with professional and regulatory standards.
Validating the accuracy of revenue and cost allocations across projects and departments.
Ensure data accurately supports budget and forecast processes.
Record information such as accruals, deferrals, reclassifications and interdepartmental entries in Rizing's ledgers and prepare appropriate levels of support documentation.
Ensure schedules relating to amortization, depreciation, accruals, capitalization and other areas are prepared and maintained.
Critically analyze accounts and to make sure entries and balances are correct.
Reconcile general ledger accounts. Ensure all entries are accurate and that transactions are reported in accordance with accounting standards and government regulations.
With appropriate documentation, prepare journal entries as necessary.
Ensure the compliance and filing obligations of Rizing are met in the designated area.
Support external and internal audit processes.
Complete monthly payroll and payroll-related compliance.
Prepare regular cash flow forecasts.
Prepare monthly and ad hoc financial reports.
Prepare intercompany invoices.
Required Qualifications
Tertiary qualifications in Accounting.
Minimum 7-years relevant experience.
Desired Qualifications
CA/CPA or equivalent professional accounting designation (minimum experience can be reduced if qualified).
Experience in audit a positive.
SAP experience a positive.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
Experience performing the full function of multi-departmental accounts preparation.
Experience in a multi-currency transaction environment.
Understanding of intermediate accounting principles.
Proven ability to manage accounting figures and financial records.
Discretion and appropriate handling of sensitive information.
Ability to work under pressure with tight timelines as well as handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
Understand the importance of accuracy and attention to detail.
A team ethic, positive, proactive attitude and ability to take ownership of responsibilities.
Intermediate computer software skills.
Work Environment and Special Consideration
Works in a professional office and/or remote office environment.
Routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptops, monitors, phones, and headsets. May also use white boards and/or virtual meeting rooms.
