The Financial Accountant is responsible for reviewing the application of general accounting principles (both tax and financial) to analyse and validate financial information as well as prepare financial and management reports. Responsible for the production and review of statutory financial statements for several legal entities.
The Financial Accountant is expected to collaborate with finance and non-finance colleagues across the business. The position is also expected to critically analyse the control aspects of procedures and recommend improvements as necessary.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
1. General Accounting and period-end closing
Percent of time spent in this area: 30%
Collaborate with teams to ensure accruals, prepayments and adjustments are booked before closing
Prepare monthly sales invoices for external third parties
Prepare monthly / quarterly invoices for the revenue share partners
Monitor and reconcile assigned intercompany accounts each period end
Close coordination with the Manila Center of Excellence group to ensure delivery of period end closing and reports
Prepare assigned slides and co-ordinate the balance sheet review process, and lead the same
2. Account Analysis and Issue Resolution
Percent of time spent in this area: 10%
Identify outstanding / incorrect balances and issues and coordinate with the stakeholders for issue resolution
Work with internal Business Partners to provide support and analyses to address their accounting related concerns
Close monitoring with account owners on the outstanding issues over the balances
3. Financial Statement preparation and audit management
Percent of time spent in this area: 30%
Preparation of statutory financial statements in accordance with IFRS / IAS / Gibraltar GAAP
Timely resolution of external / internal audit queries as delegated
4. Cash flow forecasting / payroll review
Percent of time spent in this area: 20%
Working with Group Treasury / Gibraltar Finance to update operating cash flow forecasts
Working with Gibraltar Finance, accounts payable and other stakeholders to understand expected cash inflows and outflows and the timings thereof
Undertake retrospective reviews to validate accuracy of previous forecasts and use that data to refresh / update forecasted cash flows
Review Gibraltar payroll files for accuracy & completeness prior to inclusion in cashflow and management approval
5. Project and adhoc activities
Percent of time spent in this area: 10%
Pro-active participation in any finance transformation projects
Process documentation of accounting processes that affect the overall financial statements
Job Qualifications:
Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's/College Degree , Professional License (Passed Board/Bar/Professional License Exam), Finance/Accountancy/Banking or equivalent.
CPA Qualified
At least 3 year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
Applicants must be willing to work in Taguig and/or Pasay
Preferably in Supervisory / Assistant Manager level specializing in Finance - General/Cost Accounting or equivalent.
