Responsibilities
Preparing journal entries for monthly general ledger close
Reviewing and processing AP invoices and expense reports
Responsible for assisting in maintaining general ledger account balances, in conformity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Assist in preparing accurate monthly financial reports. Reconciles and validates organization's general ledger accounts.
Completes routine accounting assignments.
Reviews and analyzes financial statement accounts for accuracy, budget variance and unusual trends
Maintains fixed asset and prepaid accounts.
Ensures that comprehensive accounting records are maintained in an organized manner.
Posts journal entries and prepares analysis schedules.
Assists with month-end close processes.
Special projects and any other duties as assigned
Required Skills/Experience
2-5 years accounting experience, insurance industry experience a plus
Able to work independently through projects assigned
Excellent Microsoft Office skills
Quick learner and with the ability to adapt to changing work requirements
Ability to work independently as well as with a team
Problem solver
Detail and results oriented
