Job Description
Software Quality Assurance and Testing Support for software development initiatives and applications used in Microchip's Manufacturing Operation Facilities. The position will be based at Microchip Philippines, Muntinlupa. The successful candidate will report to an IT Manager and work closely with the Manufacturing Systems Development Group, all based in the Philippines. Additionally, the candidate is expected to collaborate with global counterparts, participate proactively in quality assurance processes, designs test scenarios, and sets up automated testing tools while coordinating the Sprint Testing, User-Acceptance Testing, and Release to Production certifications. The candidate will also be involved in technical documentation for business support during the entire system development life cycle to ensure product quality.
Essential Competencies
Knowledge about Frontend or Backend Manufacturing is an advantage
Background on automation testing is an advantage
Understand user requirements and complex manufacturing matter
Working experience in Software Testing Foundations (test case design, test execution, bug investigation, bug tracking, etc.) and other test methodologies
Strong analytic, problem-solving, reasoning and logic skills
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Identify test scenarios and use cases from business requirements, detailed designs, and other technical specification documents
Ability to collaborate effectively with US, Asia, and Philippines-based software developers and end-users
Ability to work independently and within a team to develop innovative solutions
Adapts to support or software development responsibilities
Submit timely and accurate reports to stakeholders
Recognize opportunities to maximize the use of automated testing in place of manual testing
Follow the Microchip Information Systems policies and procedures on development, project management, and change control
Excellent time management skills
Amenable to travel locally or abroad when needed
Job Requirements
Candidate must have a Computer Science BS Degree, equivalent or any related fields, be self-driven, and have 2+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance. New College Graduates with qualified skills may be considered for the position.

Basic Software Quality Assurance Methodologies such as Test Planning, Automated Testing, Functional Testing, Component Testing, Unit Testing, Regression Testing, Integration Testing, UAT processes, Post-Release Verification Testing, Test Scenario Matrix, Test Status Reports, Defect reporting and management, Visual Studio Team Suite, Microsoft Team Foundation System, Basic SQL, and relational databases.
Other skills preferred
Microsoft Test Management, Understanding of Software development technologies (HTTP, XML, JSON, etc). Background in basic programming such as C#.NET, scripting (JavaScript, VBScripting etc.), basic OOP, and relevant technologies.
