Ensure that all activities and processes in the company is in accordance with existing environmental laws by establishing programs that will help the organization on preservation of natural resources, reduce the generations of company waste and establish proper mitigation on pollutions controls in the environment aspect and impact on air, land, water and human being.
Safety Officer is responsible for safety and security of the company and its employees. This includes managing the planning and execution of all safety related activities. This includes performing risk assessments, developing policies, procedures, and procedures for the company, and providing information to the appropriate function.
 
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (PCO)
Supervise the proper operation and maintenance of pollution control facilities by monitoring the activities relating to pollution source to ensure the compliance with the air, noise and water quality standards.
Monitors activities pertaining to the installation or construction of pollution source and control facilities with the end in view of ensuring compliance to clean air act, clean water act, hazardous waste and other environmental concerns.
Recommends to the management the installation and operation of additional equipment for the pollution abatement facilities.
Preparation of Audit Finding Reports and coordination to respective departments concerned.
Secure records and reconciliation of all hazardous waste scrap reports and create summary for hauling and/or disposal.
Ensures proper segregation of hazardous wastes prior to disposal thru assigned utility personnel.
Quarterly submission of Self-Monitoring Report to EMB.
Semi-annual submission of Compliance Monitoring Report.
Report within the reasonable time to the Authority the breakdown of any pollution control facility and the estimate actual date of completion / repair or operation.
Ensures timely schedule of third-party testing in conformance to the conditions stated in the ECC, Permit to Operate, Discharge Permit and Hazardous ID.
Participates in the quarterly review and cleaning program of DENR (Adopt an estero program).
Ensures all emissions and discharge are within the standard.
Ensures that no complaints from nearby local vicinity due to non-conformance.
Ensures readiness of the facility for random DENR visit.
Establish proper monitoring, handling, and correct inventory of hazardous waste.
Ensures that all ECC conditions are properly implemented at all times.
Extra care on the issued laboratory equipment and office assets.
Minimal or zero penalties due to non-conformance.
Establish correct inventory of consumables for wastewater.
Ensures efficient coordination between relevant departments (e.g. Engineering and Maintenance, Quality Assurance, Warehouse, etc.).
Perform other task related to the function of duties that maybe assigned from time to time.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Safety Officer)
Serves as Secretary to the Health and Safety Committee. As such, he shall:
Prepare minutes of meetings;
Report status of recommendations made;
Notify members of the meetings; and
Submit to the employer a report of the activities of the
committee, including recommendations made.
Acts in an advisory capacity on all matters pertaining to health and safety for the guidance of the employer and the workers.
Conducts investigation of accidents as member of the Health and Safety Committee and submits his separate report and analysis of accidents to the employer.
Coordinates all health and safety training programs for the employees and employer.
Conducts health and safety inspection as member of the committee.
Maintains or helps in the maintenance of an efficient accident record system and coordinates actions taken by supervisors to eliminate accident causes.
Provides assistance to government agencies in the conduct of safety and health inspection, accident investigation or any other related programs.
Work Experience
Previous experience in environmental management, safety, or a related field is preferred.
Academic Background
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or any related field.
Competency Profile
Knowledge of environmental regulations, safety standards, and pollution control practices.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess risks and develop effective solutions.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with employees, management, and regulatory agencies.
