Project Description
The Philippines Sustainable Interventions for Biodiversity, Oceans, and Landscapes (SIBOL) Project, funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) is a $22 million, 5-year project with a period of performance from July 2020 through June 2025, that aims to improve the way that natural resources and the areas from which these are derived are governed and address the drivers of natural resources insecurity by addressing both the supply of and demand for natural resources. The Project is expected to help reduce environmental crimes and unsustainable environmental practices, sustainably manage the natural resources sector, and improve the governance of natural resources in the country.
Position Description
RTI is seeking for Three (3) Drivers (based in Manila, Siargao and Masinloc, Zambales) for the Philippines SIBOL Project.
Under the general supervision of the Field Site Team Leader the position is to drive, maintain, and manage the project vehicle for the SIBOL Project.
Responsibilities
Drive RTI vehicle
Transport authorized Clients, visitors, goods, messages, mail, etc.
Collect and deliver goods, mail, documents, and other items
Take care of the day-to-day maintenance of the assigned means of transport, check oil, water, battery, brakes, tires, etc.; perform minor repairs and arrange for other repairs and ensure that the vehicle is kept clean.
Log official trips, daily mileage, gas consumption, oil changes, greasing, etc.
Monthly submission of vehicle logbook with Vehicle Request Form or Trip Ticket to the Logistics Officer
Monthly submission of Vehicle Fuel Utilization Report to the Logistics Officer
In coordination with the FOO, accomplish the vehicle maintenance checklist
Read and understand specific vehicle/vessel operating manual to ensure the safe and appropriate operations of the vehicle.
Obey traffic rules and Road Signs, Negotiate, liaise, and coordinate with local authorities to facilitate smooth running of vehicle/vessel movements.
Ensure that the steps required by rules and regulations are taken in case of involvement in an accident
Produce weekly records of mileage traveled and tonnage moved.
Identify any apparent problems during field deliveries and report them to the appropriate personnel
Other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
At least 3 years of work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
Knowledgeable in using maps and travel apps such as Waze
Knowledge or experience working in the assigned area
Knowledge of vehicle basic trouble shooting
Professional Driver's license
Results-oriented, team player and has excellent interpersonal skills; and
Has initiative and can work with little supervision.
