Edsa Shangri-La, Manila is the only five-star deluxe city-resort convention hotel in Ortigas Center, Mandaluyong City, Metro Manila's second largest business district. Adjacent to two major shopping complexes in the country - Shangri-La Plaza Mall and SM Megamall. It is seven-kilometres from the Makati Central Business District and 13 kilometers from the international airport.
As Director of Engineering, we rely on you to:
Maintain standards and ensure facilities are compliant with local regulations and ensure a systematic and cost-effective process of operating, maintaining and upgrading of assets
Ensure that the equipment in the hotel runs smoothly and efficiently at all times
Ensure the efficient and economic operations of the Engineering Department
Manage the budget and expenditure on maintenance and projects
Reduce energy consumption while taking into account guest comfort and equipment operating life
Create awareness implementing energy management program
Provide recommendation on increasing profitability and performance of Hotel
Establish and implement a preventive maintenance program to achieve higher reliability and service ability of Hotel Facilities
Providing training in all respective colleagues to ensure efficient operation, proper maintenance and repair to equipment are good morale
Liaises with suppliers and contractors to obtain correct suppliers and ensure proper implementation of contracts
Maintain and enhance Fire Life Safety in the hotel
We are looking for someone who:
Has a passion for Engineering
Preferably a degree holder in Mechanical & Electrical Engineering
Has relevant experience with an International Hotel Group
Communicates and writes with fluency in English (and local language)
Has great leadership and interpersonal skills
Self-driven, goal-oriented and able to challenge the status quo
Upholds professional values, ethics and integrity at all times
Must be a friendly, helpful and trustworthy leader
A motivator, self-starter and a team player
