Position is for a Medical Director in Optum Globa, part of the UnitedHealth Group family of businessesl, this is a trained physician who is capable to provide guidance and decisions in complex clinical cases. The Medical Director will have credentials at par with the Medical Director in the US thereby bringing in parity and credibility in peer to peer conversations.
The Medical Director will work to improve evidence based clinical decision-making capability. Medical Director will become a trusted adviser to operations and business partners in the US bringing in thought leadership and critical thinking to achieve the overall goals of clinical capability across UHC and Optum.
Primary Responsibilities:
Critically analyze the work being performed by operations
Coach clinical staff to include USRN and PHRN, physicians and non-medical staff
Able to represent Optum Global in local clinical market
Examine processes and coordinate with operations team to guarantee medical quality
Lead the clinical training and continuing education programs and activities to guarantee medical care quality
Oversees policies and procedures and ensure staff compliance with any federal and state regulations and codes in the various businesses supporting stateside
Participate in various clinical and administrative meetings with stateside leaders and partners
Oversees Optum Global Advantage nurse rounds (MD rounds)
Lead to help bridge the gap between Philippine and US Registered nursing talent
To develop nurse knowledge and on the job experience programs to support nurse journey from novice to expert stage
Serves as an Expert in helping drive automation and technology advancements pertaining to clinical functions and processes
Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). Required Qualifications:
A medical degree and Board certification in Family Medicine, Emergency Care, Internal Medicine is the US is preferred
Valid license and certification to practice medicine
10 or more years experience as Medical Director in Payer/Provider setting or in clinical medicine in general
Superb judgement, problem solving and cognitive skills
Strong executive presence
Good communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
Excellent leadership, managerial and organizational skills
Current knowledge of medicine and best practices
Good computer and electronic record skill
Preferred Qualification:
Physician with a consulting/training background
