This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated DevOps to be part of a dynamic technology team delivering solutions for Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) applications in Macquarie. In this role, you will be working closely with the business and the rest of the development team in the design, coding, configuration, testing and implementation of system changes.
Involvement in a number of initiatives such as projects, BAU delivery, software upgrades and business-driven enhancements
Performing application development, system and infrastructure configuration and testing for third party (vendor) applications as well as in house applications.
Being responsible for producing and reviewing e.g. development / testing work estimates, technical/functional specifications, creating and documenting test plans and test cases, documenting and executing implementation plans
Executing unit tests, system integration tests, regression test and performance tests in accordance with agreed test cases and test plans
Building relationships and working closely with the business on delivery / testing of system and/or application changes to obtain clarity on expectations
Providing production support as part of the DevOps team and swiftly finding solutions to issues
Assisting with process improvements and integration of new technologies
Regular project/task status reporting
To be successful in this role, you will need to have passion for quality in work output and results, continuously improving processes/practices, open and adaptive to change. You should thrive in a fast-paced environment and be able to quickly learn new skills. You should have technical knowledge in core Java, SQL, and advanced UNIX and SQL scripting. You should also have extensive knowledge and experience in implementing application changes to a diverse customer base.
Key Skills
Development experience in the following technologies:
Languages / Frameworks: JavaScript, WebServices, jQuery, Unix Scripting
RDBMS: Oracle, Sybase or MS SQL
Tools: Eclipse, SVN, GIT
Operating System: UNIX, Windows
Experience in application testing (unit testing, SIT, performance / regression testing).
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, including the ability to document and analyze complex information and data
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Excellent problem solving skills and an ability to multi task
Strives to deliver quality work on time and on budget
Comfortable working independently as well as being a team contributor
Willingness to learn new skills
Ability to adapt to new circumstances and changing priorities in a constantly changing environment
Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent experience
