DEMAND FORECASTING SPECIALIST
Job Overview:
The Demand Forecasting Specialist is responsible for creating accurate stock level contributions that include factors such as trend, seasonality and customer preferences. These contributions are used to distribute the stock level forecast across the different warehouses.
Demand Forecasting Specialist will draw on various statistical algorithms to project future performance based on past sales records. The Demand Forecasting Specialist will work closely with NPD, marketing and Sales team to project the impact of planned events. He/She will manage SKU performance by collection, style and event.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
Demand Forecasting Specialist performs analysis of historical selling patterns, helping to predict sales and drive supply chain decisions which influence the positioning of the right goods in the right place at the right time.
Demand Forecasting Specialist seeks to find meaningful patterns in customer behavior based current trend and collection selling.
Demand Forecasting Specialist determines the forecasts by analyzing historical data and edits the effects of external factors.
Evaluates demand forecast accuracy against sales performance.
Uses actual sales data to manage warehouse demand exceptions, adjusting demand forecasts as appropriate.
Based on forecasts and current inventory, plan material and product inventory replenishment
Coordinate with NPD team to project forecasts on New product launch.
Lean inventory: Analyze inventory rotation on SKU & materials and identify non-moving & slow rotating stock. Prepare action plan with NPD & Marketing & Sales to liquidate unnecessary stock.
Job Specifications:
Bachelor degree in statistics, business, operations
2-4 years of experience in merchandise planning, inventory management, forecasting or statistical modeling
Experience in Materials Requirement Planning experience
Proficient with forecasting methodologies and/or statistical modeling
Experience with trend analysis, promotion planning, event forecasting
Strong computer skills (PC-based); Systems used: Manugistics, Microstrategy.
