Job Description

The Cyber Security Specialist is responsible for ensuring the security of an organization's information system and networks. They are tasked with identifying and mitigating potential security threats and vulnerabilities, implementing security measures, monitor system for suspicious activity, and responding to security incidents.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop and implement security measures: Design, implement, and maintain security systems, protocols, and procedures to protect the organization's sensitive data and infrastructure from unauthorized access, intrusion, malware, and other cyber threats.
Conduct risk assessments: Identify potential vulnerabilities in systems, networks, and applications through regular assessments and penetration testing. Evaluate the level of risk associated with these vulnerabilities and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies.
Monitor and analyze security systems: Continuously monitor networks, system, and applications for potential security breaches or suspicious activity. Analyze logs and security events to identify and respond to security incidents promptly.
Incident response and management: Develop and implement incident response plans to effectively respond to and manage security incidents. Coordinate with relevant stakeholders to investigate security breaches, minimize damage, and implement corrective actions to prevent future incidents.
Security awareness and training: Promote security awareness throughout the organization by conducting training sessions, developing educational materials, and raising awareness about best practices for data protection and cybersecurity.
Stay updated on industry trends: Keep up-to-date with the latest security technologies, vulnerabilities, threats, and industry best practices. Continuously enhance knowledge and skills through training, certifications, and participation in relevant forums and conferences.
Security policy development: Develop and enforce security policies, standards, and guidelines to ensure compliance with industry regulations and best practices. Regularly review and update security policies to address emerging threats and technologies.
Collaboration and communication: Collaborate with cross-functional team, including IT, network administrators, and management, to implement security measures and ensure the overall security risks, incidents, and mitigation strategies effectively to stakeholders.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Cyber Security, Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field.
Strong understanding of networking protocols, operating systems, and information security principles.
Experience with security technologies, including firewall, intrusion detection/ prevention systems, antivirus software, encryption tools, and vulnerability scanners.
Knowledge on industry regulations and standards, such as ISO 27001, NIIST Cybersecurity Framework, and GDPR.
Proficient in performing risk assessments, vulnerability assessments, and penetration testing.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to quickly identify and mitigate security risk.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with teams and convey security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
