Job Description
The Accounting Officer
Tax and Compliance provides vital support to the Accounting Department and helps the Manager/Head on compliance for all governmental compliance requirements.
Together with the Manager/Head, he/she is the main anchor point for all compliance and tax related matters for the company and its affiliates. He/She is responsible in the timely compliance and submission of accurate reports to the BIR, SEC, LGUs, etc. Main Responsibilities:
Timely and accurately file the Monthly/Quarterly/Annual Tax Returns to the BIR and other required documents
Timely pay to the LGUs the annual and/or quarterly business tax assessments and RPT
Timely and accurately submit other reports required by the SEC, BOI, BOC, etc.
Timely prepare the detailed and accurate analyses and researches to assist the Accounting Department in addressing BIR audits
Perform other related tasks that may be assigned from time to time
Overheads cost reduction through innovations and implementing effective internal control on disbursement.
Complies with company's policies and procedures, accounting standards and tax regulation to achieve zero findings.
Processes efficiently accounting transactions and reviews GL accounts in a timely and accurate manner.
Submits accurate payroll deduction and inclusion every cut-off.
Tracks expenses and process expense reports.
Addresses all payables
Accounts Payable
Trade, Accounts Payable
Others (including analysis & monitoring of Accrued Expense Payable).
Monitors accounts to ensure payments are up to date, age analysis.
Records the liquidation of employee and supplier advances and coordinates to Treasury the excess cash if any.
Posts and reclassifies communication charges to proper account and cost centers.
Reviews and verifies invoices and check requests.
Processes Purchase
Order-related payables including advance payments.
Processes non Purchase
Order payables including expense reports, revolving funds and the like.
Creates a report on how many bills are created in Quickbooks and identifies which are modified.
Posts transactions to journals, ledgers and other records.
Researches and resolves invoice discrepancies and issues.
Maintains records of BIR compliance reports and remittances.
Provides management timely information and reports.
Prepares analytics report
Inventory Clearing Account, Statutory Payables, Accounts Payable
Trade, Accounts Payable
Others, Shipping Costs.
Submits expense report and communication charges.
Submits cost calculator for importation of inventory.
Coordinates with External Auditors and prepares schedules needed for the interim and year-end audits; and other tasks that maybe assigned by the Accounting Manager related to the general description of this position
Submits employee and suppliers' advances.
Submits and pays online monthly and quarterly BIR compliance reports (VAT, Income Tax Return and Withholding Taxes including required attachments).
Job Qualifications
Qualifications:
• Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's/College Degree , Professional License (Passed Board/Bar/Professional License Exam), Finance/Accountancy/Banking, Business Studies/Administration/Management or equivalent. CPA IS A MUST
• At least 7 year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
• Required Skills: Philippine Taxation especially on income tax, VAT, withholding taxes and DST and technical rules on addressing tax related audits, knowledge and understanding on regulatory agency requirements such as BIR, SEC, Preferably an Officer or Supervisor/5 Yrs & Up Experienced Employee specialized in Finance - Audit/Taxation or equivalent
• Experience as a BIR revenue officer is a plus
