THE OPPORTUNITY
The
Country Program Manager for Health and Nutrition
leads the quality management of a gender transformative program on Early Childhood Development (ECD) and sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR). S/he ensures program work is deployed within the standards of the profession, best practice, and evidence-based thinking, and provides technical guidance as part of continuous learning of the science involved.
Further, as the Country Program Manager for Health and Nutrition:
-You will
lead the program-related technical business development and ensures quality implementation with frequent field deployment.
-You will
be responsible for providing timely and ongoing support to ensure technical soundness at all levels of the program/project cycle.
-You will
lead the health and nutrition-related aspects of disaster preparedness and response, including deploying for rapid assessments or longer-term emergency response
-You will
influence Plan decision-makers, including Senior Management Team, Program Area Managers, Project Managers, and Country Office staff on program-related issues.
-You will
represent Plan International Philippines with donors, partners, and other stakeholders through inter-agency networks, working groups, and other national and sub-national level meetings.
-Plan International is a development and humanitarian organization. In exceptional cases, you will be asked to support emergency response activities in the communities in your assigned covered areas.
DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?
To be successful in the role you will need among other things:
-Bachelor's degree in or higher (master's degree) in Health and Nutrition.
-At least a minimum of five years' work experience in technical aspects of program activities relevant to SRHR and ECD.
-With demonstrated technical understanding and experience in the application of quality standards and principles in the design, implementation, and evaluation of SRHR/ECD projects and programs.
-Relevant track record in project management, managing remote locations, and managing community partners and volunteers.
-Has a personal commitment to gender and inclusion.
-Collaborative work style and eagerness to continually learn and grow
-Strong initiative with the ability to work independently and solve problems with limited supervision.
-Applicants must be based in the Philippines and a Filipino national.
