I. Background and Rationale
The BARMMHealth Project is a five-year capacity building activity under the terms of Agreement (72049219CA00001) awarded to University Research Co. by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). The award covers the period from February 6, 2019 to February 5, 2024. BARMMHealth has been tasked to address the need for strategic and sustainable communication interventions that will generate increased demand for family planning (FP), maternal and child health (MCH) and adolescent reproductive health (AYRH) services in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).
In its fourth year of operation, the project used mass ( specifically radio) media, traditional mass media, and social platforms to spark interest, generate awareness and translate improvements in knowledge and attitudes to actual behavior change, interpersonal communication and counseling (IPC/C)
On top mass media campaigns, BARMMHealth also undertakes the development of modules to improve health communication in schools, health care and emotional intelligence (EQ) management skills of health service providers on-the-ground. Print materials l i ke job aids are likewise produced for information, education and communication purposes to further enhance on-the-ground interpersonal communication and counseling. The project designed a capacity buildi ng approach to coach and mentor health and population officers from the government with the aim to contribute in improving the core communication competencies of health communicators to sustain innovations and gains beyond the life of this project.
BARMMHEalth is expected to provide the LGU and CSO partners the needed support develop their communication materials and job aids, document in different formats the learnings from implementing the project approaches and activities, among which are: writing of the end-of project report, success story video presentation, and writing of technical notes. At this life stage of the project, BARMMHealth faces the challenge of designing and packaging remaining materials for printing /reproduction per request of partners. BARMMHealth does not have the Creative Team to provide technical assistance to partners.
Considering the pressing need to deliver a number of communication materials, job aids, learning modules, project reports, etc. BARMMHEalth needsthe professional services of a short-term consultant/graphic artist for specific project milestones or deliverables.
II. Objectives
The USAID BARMMHealth is looking for a short-term Graphic Artist to layout project products/materials listed below:
CSE- AYRH convergence modules
Selected LGU FP/AYRH materials
Designs/layout of training materials
Designs/layout of High Impact (HIP) and Good Promising Practices & Interventions (GPPI) documentation
Other Knowledge Management products and project reports (TBA)
III. Tasks & Deliverables
The Consultant/Graphic Artist is expected to: * Draft and finalize layout/ package designs of products/materials as outlined above based on comments of the Chief of Party
Ensure consistency of style of the said products/documents in accordance with USAID'sbranding guideline
BARMMHealth will provide the consultant/graphic artist with technical inputs, primary and secondary reference materials, reports, project learning documents, orientation guides and templates used by the Project throughout the project cycle as his/her reference.
IV. Period of Performance and Level of Efforts
The consultancy will be implemented for 50 days spread over the period from February 2022 to 30 December 2022. The specific products to be completed are outlined below:
