JOB DESCRIPTION
Writes press releases, feature articles for publication in the mass media to promote PRC
Conducts press rounds to build media relations for stronger support
Writes materials for the web to keep the public informed
Posts PRC messages on FB and tweet to update public on the activities of PRC
Writes speeches for PRC officials by coordinating with the organizer of special events to highlight key messages and call for action
Prepares annual report in coordination with NHQ offices to document PRC’s accomplishments during the year
Writes, edits and supervises layout and ensures timely publication of quarterly newsletter
Writes, edits and supervises layout to ensure quality corporate brochure
In coordination with concerned offices, writes, edits and supervises layout to ensure timely production of the BNC proceedings
Organizes, coordinates and conducts communication workshops / trainings to build the communications capacity of PRC NHQ services and chapters
Organizes press conferences and creates media hype to ensure success of Red Cross special events
Other Communications Related Tasks
Organizes press conferences and creates media hype to ensure success of Red Cross special events
Attends and participates in meetings with PRC staff and external stakeholders
Perform other duties that may be assigned
JOB QUALIFICATION
Qualifications/Minimum Education: Graduate of Mass Communication or Journalism or other related courses
Work Experience & Skills:
At least five (5 ) years supervisory experience
With five (5) years professional experience in Communications field
Knowledgeable in Communications trends
Excellent human and public relations and cultural sensitivity
Leadership and management experience
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated proficiency with applications such as Word, Excel, PPT
Exceptional interpersonal skills, including coaching and training
Personal Qualities:
Capability to develop strong relationships and work effectively with community leaders
Ability to make decisions in-line with organizational goals and values
Ability to manage multiple tasks
Collaborates with team members to achieve shared outcomes
Capacity to demonstrate confidentiality on behalf of employees
Deliver a solutions-based approach
