Description
Responsibilities

Key Result #1: Strengthen internal and external communications
1. Plan and execute communications activities in collaboration with budget holders and project leads;
2. Build relationships with the staff and familiarity with partner communities in order to accurately communicate the impact of the work being carried out;
3. Manage the social media accounts - lead the content generation, media relations, and brand awareness following GSC Communications guidelines;
4. Maintain databases of actual and potential media partners and network members/supporters;
5. Respond effectively and professionally to local and international media inquiries through preparing Question and Answer for appropriate spokesperson;
6. Draft press releases, reports, and blog posts on specific issues;
Key Result #2: Lead advocacy and campaigns
1. Conduct advocacy research and participate and/or implement campaigns align with FHP's goals;
2. Identify policy issues and recommendations on topics relevant to FHP's work;
3. Monitors all levels of advocacy work (varying from executive to legislative agenda on national, regional, and local platforms);
4. Ensure coordination with the Program Team to reinforce synergy of programmatic and advocacy priorities.
Key Result #3: Develop and distribute communication materials
1. Produce graphic design, photographic and video documentation, and printed materials (e.g. quarterly newsletter, project briefs, etc.) in coordination with budget holder/s;
2. Harness stories & facts as reported by FHP staff and develop them into compelling narratives accompanied by photographs and video, for external dissemination, posting on FH through our GSC Team & (possibly) FH external website.
3. Draft FHP's Annual Report in collaboration with all Units, particularly Program and M&E
4. Support in the finalization of end-of-project reports and any other reports, as requested.
5. Ensure compliance with communications and branding guidelines of FH, donors, and other stakeholders.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Communications for Development, Journalism, International Relations, Political Science, or Law is desirable. Graduates of other courses may be considered if s/he has the experience and competency requirements of the role. A masters' Degree is an advantage.
Experience: At least 5 years of relevant experience developing and implementing communications and advocacy activities; Experience in drafting and presenting policy briefs and position papers; Experience in branding, positioning and visibility, marketing and partner relations; Familiar with Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premier, or any other related software for video editing; Understanding of a child rights-based approach and/or a human rights-based approach; Networking experience with INGOs and Networks relevant to FHP's priorities; Knowledge and background on policy development, legislation development and advocacy environment in the Philippines.
Language: Strong proficiency in spoken and written English and Tagalog. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and press releases. Ability to summarize complex information and to respond to questions from management, clients, partners, and the general public; Excellent interpersonal and intercultural communication skills. Experience speaking to the media and doing interviews.
