Civil Peace Service (CPS) Advisor (m/f/d) for conflict transformation at the Initiatives for International Dialogue

Field of activity
The CPS Programme Philippines contributes to transforming violent conflict and promoting peace in Mindanao. The Philippines have experienced decades of armed conflict between the government and ethno-national resistance groups. CPS peace advisors cooperate with partners from the academe, civil society organisations, the media and governmental institutions to contribute to an inclusive and sustainable peace in Mindanao. The Initiatives for International Dialogue (IID) is a regional advocacy institution doing policy, campaigns, and solidarity work to advocate for people-to-people solidarity through its peacebuilding and thematic work in the Philippines and in Southeast Asia.

Your tasks
Strengthening of GIZ-CPS' partnership with IID through the advice, support and accompaniment of joint peacebuilding projects in the areas of indigenous peoples' rights, conflict transformation and transitional justice
Support and accompaniment of the indigenous peoples convergence 'Lumad Husay Mindanaw
Identification and addressing of individual and organisational capacity development needs and develop, design and implement corresponding measures such as trainings, workshops, hospitations, etc.
Provision of external perspectives and expertise to the partner organisation and advise along conflict transformation approaches, such as conflict sensitivity, do-no-harm and human rights
Regular conduct of planning, monitoring and evaluation with regards to the CPS programme's impact goals
Contributions to the CPS programme through the development of knowledge and communication products, support to the operational planning and other upcoming tasks
Active participation in and support to team activities, meetings and workshops
Regular reporting on state of impact achievement

Your profile
University degree in social anthropology, political sciences, peace and conflict studies or related subjects
Several years of relevant work experience in working closely with civil society organisations, indigenous peoples or youth
Basic understanding of the multi-layered conflict context in Mindanao and familiarity with regional, political context in Southeast Asia
Excellent communication skills, especially in conflict-sensitive communication, excellent self-organisation skills, collaborative and openness to learn from and work with indigenous peoples
Strong sense of cultural sensitivity
Distinct capacities in self-organisation and working independently
Commitment to core values of GIZ-CPS, such as mutual respect, inclusiveness, non-violent communication and human rights
Fluency in English and willingness to learn Visayan
