BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE SPECIALIST
 
CONTRACT TYPE:
Full Time (probationary to regularization)
Role Interactions:
Reporting to Senior Manager and VP for IT
Interact with management on required portfolio
Coordinate with onsite management for resources and priorities
Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop Complex ETL and Analytics Programs using SQL, Store Procedures and various query tools.
Work with IT Management, BI and FinTech teams to ensure that reports and metrics identify business needs and opportunities for process improvement.
Develop, maintain and support SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) packages related to the extraction, transformation and loading (ETL) process using Microsoft SQL Server
Responsible for data profiling as well as SQL and database tuning and optimization
Analyze the operations requirements and design technical solutions based on those requirements.
Perform day to day troubleshooting of issues related to server instances.
Design ETL audit control and scheduling processes.
Develop testing and implementation strategy, conduct appropriate functional and performance testing to identify and resolve process bottlenecks and data quality issues
Guide the developers in the team to implement the client requirement and review the software developed by the team members.
Work within a fast paced, objective oriented environment
Managing and versioning the SSIS projects
Participates in meetings, lead technical review meetings with onshore personnel
Responsible for providing accurate and timely communication of the status of assignment, job responsibilities, and the resolution of problems to the appropriate parties following established policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications:
Requires a four-year degree in Computer Science/Information Technology
Minimum two years working as a Database engineer or a related role.
Minimum of one year SSIS experience
Thorough understanding of database structures, theories, principles, & practices.
Ability to write & troubleshoot SQL code & design stored procedures, functions, tables, views, triggers, indexes, & constraints.
Extensive knowledge of MS SQL Server
Extensive knowledge with SSRS\SSIS\T-SQL
Experience with C# and\or VB.NET.
Technical knowledge of MS SQL Server internals with emphasis on query performance.
Knowledge and know-how to troubleshoot potential issues; experience with best practices around database operations.
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate technical and non-technical concepts to peers, customers, and management
Must be capable of routinely making effective and timely decisions in alignment with departmental direction and based on sound business knowledge and industry best practices.
Require ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Ability to multi-task with several complex and demanding Projects
Proven track record of successfully working in a fast-paced environment, a plus
