Job Summary:
The Bookkeeper is responsible for end-to-end general accounting tasks and preparing, reviewing, and analyzing financial reports. The ideal candidate has in-depth knowledge of Australian bookkeeping and will be an asset to the accounting team. Duties will include but not limited to keeping and managing records of financial transactions for group companies and general clerical with project-based work.
Job Description:
Responsible for bookkeeping procedures and general administrative/ad hoc tasks.
Deliver operating efficiencies through Xero and other relevant accounting software systems.
Experience using Adobe Pro and similar software.
Perform regular, detailed audits to ensure accuracy in financial documents, expenditures, and investments that is being worked on.
Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analysing account information.
Stay informed on industry developments and changes in regulations.
Core Job Responsibilities
DATA ENTRY
The Assistant Bookkeeper's core role in the first instance, is to complete accurate and timely data entry into EvolveGo, Xero, and Microsoft Excel and Word. From time to time, the expectation would be to assist with typing and dictation as directed.
INVOICES
The Assistant Bookkeeper's core role is to create invoices to clients for billable hours.
ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE (AR)
The Assistant Bookkeeper's core role, alongside the Office Manager/Bookkeeper is to administer accounts receivables administering debtors, payment collections, deductions, and credit risk.
ACCOUNTS PAYABLE (AP)
The Assistant Bookkeeper's core role, alongside the Office Manager/Bookkeeper is to administer the accounts payable function including receiving, processing, and verify invoices.
RECONCILING CLIENT INVESTMENT SCHEDULES
The Assistant Bookkeeper's core role, alongside the Office Manager/Bookkeeper is to update client interest earnings on a periodical basis.
Requirements/Skills needed:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or any relevant field, CPA is preferred.
At least 2 to 3 years experience in Australian accounting and bookkeeping, preferably within an AU law firm.
Proficiency with XERO & EvolveGo or other accounting software
Proficiency in the use of spreadsheets, word processing, and databases (Microsoft PC)
Familiarity with office management procedures and accounting principles.
Excellent written and verbal English communication and interpersonal skills.
Unwavering attention to detail
Experience collaborating effectively with others, both internally and externally
Good time management skills, highly organised, with the ability to perform multiple tasks and meet critical deadlines while maintaining accuracy and quality
Proven ability to make complex and time-sensitive decisions in the best interests of the organisation
Strong problem-solving skills and proven ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
Commercial acumen
Demonstrated ability to self-manage and apply a proactive, 'can do' attitude
Additional Job Details:
Set-up and Location: WFH Setup
Work Schedule: 9:00 AM-6:00 PM (AEST) | 7:00 AM-4:00 PM (PH Time) Must be flexible with the time to complete the 20 hours per week.
Employment Type: Part-time
