Position Summary
The Benefits Representative works alongside the local Benefits Analyst. This role is responsible for the day-to-day benefits administration. To be successful in the role, an incumbent must possess effective communication skills, excellent customer service skills, be detail oriented, have strong analytical and follow-up skills, Microsoft Office skills (especially excel), demonstrate discretion, critical thinking, professionalism, accountability and accuracy.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Provides direct support to company employees, other HR groups and company management as part of a centralized function to handle a variety of HR-benefits related transactions.
Develops SME level knowledge of government benefits and reporting/reimbursement, private insurance plans, enrollment and deletion process, and invoice auditing.
Monitors ticketing system queue for basic benefit questions, benefit change requests, sickness and leave entitlement, reporting, and reimbursements from government agencies. Reviews all requests for accuracy, validity, and required documentation/approvals.
Serves as the gatekeeper for all employee benefit changes, and ensures consistency, and adherence HR and carrier policy and procedures regarding timing, eligibility, and consistency of requested and approved changes.
Engages with all internal HR and Corporate Employee levels to resolve any questions, gaps, or other employee benefits related issues.
Responsible for responding to ad hoc and month end standard reporting.
Partners with payroll to ensure accurate administration on employee benefits and leaves.
Develops and maintains standard user documentation.
Responds to employee inquiries by phone, ticket, or email to ensure courteous, timely resolution.
Provides routine information to internal clients on HR processes and policies. Support HR COE programs and processes.
Independently performs research to resolve more complex inquiries related to benefits and wellness inquiries.
When necessary, escalates inquiries to HR Center of Excellence after completing initial research.
Maintains knowledge of company and departmental policies and procedures.
Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of Human Resource files and records.
Identifies process and procedural improvements and contributes to the ongoing development of the KBA library
Required Qualifications
High school diploma
Minimum of 3 years HR experience and benefits knowledge
Excellent written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
Possesses excellent problem solving, continuous improvement, and analytical capabilities.
Attention to detail and accuracy.
Highly organized with ability to prioritize duties during periods of high volume and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Customer responsive and focused on support
Takes accountability for and delivers consistent decisions, actions and results.
Strong interpersonal, influencing and communication skills are vital to develop effective working relationships with colleagues and staff at all levels.
Positive attitude and understanding of importance of repetitive job responsibilities.
Demonstrated effectiveness and ability to work independently, regardless of distractions and/ or general noise.
Acts honestly and professionally with the ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.
Ability to handle ambiguous situations as they arise.
Judgement
Normally receives little instruction on daily work, general instructions on newly introduced assignments.
Nature of decisions demands a consistent accuracy as errors may cause some serious delay, waste of materials or loss of time due to rework or checking revised output.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior working experience with SuccessFactors, Workday, or similar HRIS
Prior working experience with ServiceNow or similar case management system
Familiarity with HR shared services models
Experience and Education
Typically requires a minimum of 4-6 years of related experience and High School diploma/certificate or equivalent.
