Job Summary:
Supervises and works scheduled bar shifts
Complies with agreed-upon beverage policy and procedures throughout the restaurant
Understands beverage control, including days on hand, perpetual inventory, bar pars, portion control, cost control, and inventory.
Trains newly hired staff on all necessary duties and responsibilities
Supervise bar operations while ensuring all beverage standards are being met.
Effectively manage and promote quality guest experiences.
Assist in creating drink menus.
Inform the manager of supplies and/or products needed in bar areas.
Assist the manager with hiring and training bar staff.
Control beverage costs (in line with the department's budgeted beverage cost percentage operating expenses, inventory levels, payroll, etc. effectively.
Monitor direct report performance standards and hold all bar team members accountable for performance, with assistance from the Manager.
Ensure enforcement of high standards of hygiene and sanitation throughout the bar areas, based on departmental hygiene targets.
Ensure all bar and bar storage repairs and maintenance tasks are carried out promptly.
Monitor guest reactions and frequently confer with service staff or captains to ensure guest satisfaction.
Respond to guest comments, requests, and complaints in a timely and professional manner. Take personal responsibility to resolve issues and entirely communicate with the Manager.
Job Requirements:
2 years of experience in a similar or supportive role is preferred.
Able to prioritize multiple tasks in a dynamic environment with a positive attitude.
The ability to create superior guest experiences.
Willingness to work during peak hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Able to learn, retain, and present products, menus, and allergy information to guests.
Good communication skills, able to work well in a team or independently.
Flexible schedule, available to work weekends, nights, and holidays when needed.
Effectively delegate responsibilities and maximize resources.
A team player approach to leadership.
Positive attitude and strong work ethic with the mentality of a team player.
The ability to comfortably lead a team in a busy atmosphere.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
