Fund Transfer Department (FTD) is the central unit for processing remittances and inter-bank fund transfer transactions of the bank, both domestic and crossborder, both outgoing and incoming. The outgoing transactions, including the issuance of demand drafts, are processed based on the instructions originating from the stores and confirmed funding from Liquidity. The incoming transactions are processed and settled based on defined internal controls, specific instructions and confirmed receipt of funding. FTD is also the central unit for facilitating clearing of foreign currency denominated check deposits accepted by the stores.
The FTD Officer shall supervise the day-to-day process for all remittances, inter-bank fund transfers, demand drafts and foreign currency check deposits. Key
responsibilities shall include:
1. Distributes the day-to-day transaction volume to available FTD Associates, ensuring task completion within SLA
2. Conducts independent end-of-day balancing and reviews against EOD balancing prepared by FTD Associates
3. Reviews transaction accounting entries prepared by FTD Associates for submission to Finance
4. Handles queries from stores, correspondent banks, internal units, system vendors and other banks
5. Reviews and authorizes disposition to float items and adjusting entries submitted by FTD Associates
6. Initiate and monitor tracers or investigations with correspondent banks and local banks as needed, until final disposition
7. Review regulatory reports, e.g., manual CTR and FED reports prepared by FTD Associates before submission
8. Cooperate and help ensure the teams passing rate on audit engagements
9. Implements the proper safekeeping of documents and shared folders and comply with data retention policy
10. Assist in project ideation and assist in testing and implementation of process improvement initiatives
11. Act as backup for FTD Associates, as needed.
12. Escalates issues in a timely manner to FTD Head and/or BOG Head, as needed
13. Other tasks that may be assigned by the superior and the bank.
