We are looking to recruit a Backend Developer on our engineering team whose prime responsibility is to create and support features needed in our games as well as working together with system engineers to ensure reliability and scalability of the platform. He will get to work on technologies such as Ruby on Rails, Golang, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Redis, Kubernetes and AWS. These technologies will most likely change in the future, and he would be part of figuring out which technology to bring in next.
Anino Inc. (formerly Anino Playlab, Anino Games, Inc.) is the first and leading game developer in the Philippines with more than 60 games under its belt since it started in 2002.
A multi-awarded studio and a pioneer in the Philippines, they have successfully worked as a 3rd party developer with top-tier publishers such as Electronic Arts, Activision, Namco, Game House, Disney and Big Fish Games among others. Anino merged with Pocket PlayLab in 2014 to realize its vision of being the number 1 game studio in Southeast Asia. In 2017, it broke out as an independent studio under Thomas Andreasen, focusing on expanding its Mobile Social Casino title.
Today, the studio continues to develop a range of Social Casino Slots for mobile and desktop platforms. It is comprised of a team of 30+ mobile games enthusiasts who are dedicated, fun-loving and hard-working people who thrive to be competing on a global scale.
What you would be doing:
Collaborate with system engineers to improve current features and bring new user experience into production.
Troubleshoot problems and continually improve our backend
Get hands-on experience with building a scalable backend for millions of users.
Build a robust platform for our game developers to built great games on
Investigate and implement new technologies to improve our tech stack
About you:
Extensive experience in web or backend development with Ruby on Rails, Golang and other web frameworks
Experience in working with MongoDB or any similar document-oriented based database
Experience with Firebase and ElasticSearch
Knowledge in developing stateless applications
Understanding of versioning tools such as Git
Can write clean and easy to understand code
Experience with Server management, Open Source contributions and/or TDD is a plus
Communicate well in English, both spoken and written
