A Support Assistant is responsible for the beginning and middle stages of the supply chain from time of purchase order up to vessel arrival.
Compliance - Complying with US Customs' ISF filing procedures and sending entry documents to the Customs House Broker to avoid penalties, storage or demurrage, detention and General Order.
Accuracy - Accuracy in populating iFMS3 and customer's google spreadsheet.
Visibility - Providing visibility of shipments to customers.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * ISF (Import Security Filing) - USCBP (U.S. Customs & Border Protection) compliance. Forward ISF details to CHB (Customs House Broker) for ISF filing at least 72 hours before cargo is laden on board at the last foreign port before arriving USA except for cargo going through Canada to USA.
Data Entry
iFMS3 (operating system) - adding/populating shipments based on ISF details.
customer's google spreadsheet - adding/populating and/or updating
Delivery Order on FCL (Full Container Load) - issue to trucker by e-mail and making sure that trucker received and accepted it otherwise, issue to another trucker.
Track and Trace - maintain updated records on iFMS3 and google spreadsheet by frequently monitoring shipments by tracking and tracing using internet browser searching carrier, vessel, terminal/CY, CFS websites to.
Update customer on changes to sailing schedule.
Pre-Alert - shipping documents received from overseas. Case to case.
Arrival Notice - send Arrival Notice to customers in a timely manner preferably 3-4 days before vessel arrives. On a case to case basis, other documents may accompany the Arrival Notice.
Entry Documents - reviewing shipping documents to ensure accuracy and forward complete entry documents to CHB and/or to customer at least 3 days before vessel arrival but do not yet transmit customs.
May respond to customer inquiries and referring them to the proper channels
