BASIC FUNCTION OF THE JOB
As an Azure Cloud Engineer, you will utilize skills, techniques, process, and technical proficiency for the operations of client Azure cloud environments. This position proactively engages in engineering level support tasks for diverse managed services clients. The Azure Engineer performs proactive management of client cloud estates using ITSM, Observability, Governance and Cost management tools. The tools are utilized to resolve requests, respond to events, and advise clients on courses of action to improve cloud performance and reliability. This position requires the engineer's collaboration with peers and clients by working directly on completing key tasks efficiently and with quality. You will work with internal and external stakeholders to gather information, assess, and resolve challenges within the full spectrum of Azure Cloud services.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB
Subject matter expert for Azure in client environments
Fulfill requests from client to make changes to Azure resources in cloud estates
Participate in cross-functional projects, and take ownership of individual feature efforts
Ensure the successful delivery of services to our clients
Maintain familiarity with all Insight services to create seamless collaboration for delivery
Manage workflow through ServiceNow
Lead requirement gathering when resolving problems
Assist with identifying and evaluating new technologies and methodologies to solve complex problems
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science OR equivalent 5+ years overall IT experience
1- 2 years of Azure cloud management experience
Passion for continuous learning, experimentation and growing personally
Azure AZ900 (Azure Fundamentals) and AZ104 (Azure Administrator) certifications
Customer service desk, consulting, or client service delivery experience
Demonstrated proficiency with:
Azure IaaS and PaaS services
Windows and Linux Virtual Machines
Containers, ie AKS, Kubernetes, Docker
Networking (vnet, load balancers, firewalls, peering)
App Services (API App, Web App, Mobile Apps, etc)
SQL Database system administration
Azure DevOps Repo's and Pipelines
IaC Automation using Azure APM or 3rd party tools like Terraform or Ansible
Backup, Replication and High Availability
Active Directory
Experience monitoring and responding to alerts in cloud environments using observability tools like Azure Monitor, Datadog, New Relic or Dynatrace.
Ability to participate in rotational 24x7 support of environments and work afterhours as required by job duties.
Good communication skills both verbally and written required
