JOB OBJECTIVES
An AVP for Accounting undertakes all aspects of corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL and Counsel, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting and Revenue Recognition
- Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances
- Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements for the organization
- Ensure that the monthly financial statements are accurate and compliant to government regulations (i.e. SEC, BIR, LGU)
- Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting
- Research technical accounting issues for compliance
- Supervises periodic financial audits and collaborates with the internal and external auditors
- Support month-end and year-end close process
- Supervises periodic financial audits and collaborates with the internal and external auditors
- Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
- Manage and comply with local and national government reporting requirements and tax filings
- Supervises periodic financial audits and collaborates with the internal and external auditors
- Additional duties as necessary
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- Has proven experience in being in a financial management position for 5 years or more
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is required
- Masters degree in Business preferred
- Has experience in creating financial statements and general ledger functions as well as month-end/year-end closing process
- Has broad and deep knowledge of accounting principles (PFRS and IFRS), financial modeling and business practices
- Has ability to use accounting software
