CLEAR Corporate is seeking for an experienced Bookkeeper to work for an Australia-based client who can lead their Business Services Team. The right person must be ready and able to tackle any job whether it be on administration of business systems or being accountable for the bookkeeping functions.
Role
The Bookkeeper reports directly to the General Manager, leads the Business Services Team and involves working with the Engineering and Management teams.
The Bookkeeper is responsible for:
1. Timely preparation of:
Month-end close off and completion of Profit and Loss
Responsibility for payroll, invoicing & supplier payments, reconciliation of accounts and bank, accounts data entry, records keeping, filing and document management, office management
Submission of various tax and other statutory returns including annual salary returns, BAS, PAYG, Superannuation and monthly payroll tax
2. Assisting the General Manager in the efficient and profitable operation of the Perth operation including:
Accurate and timely preparation and issuing of invoices
Debtor control
Cost control
3. Effectively managing and coordinating his/her employee's workload to ensure cost effective, accurate and timely production of all financial reports and work
4. Undertake monthly stock counts and reconciliations
5. General administration to support the Client Services and Technical Teams
6. Perform such further tasks as may be required of you
In leading the Business Services Team, the Bookkeeper is responsible for:
Personnel Management
Effectively and regularly manage and motivate staff to:
Improve job knowledge and understand how position inter-relates with those of other employees
Ensure that at least satisfactory levels of acceptable work are produced by staff with respect to each function
Consistently produce neat, accurate and thorough work paying extreme attention to detail
Cooperate with each other enhancing team spirit and effective coordinated responses to customer's requirements
Be totally customer-orientated by always dealing with them in an efficient, friendly, and helpful manner
Coordinate staff's workloads through prioritising tasks on a logical basis
Show initiative by anticipating needs, starting action and assuming responsibility
Pay extreme attention to detail ensuring that all products and documents provided to customers are fully functional/accurate and complete in every detail
Develop a spirit of pride in one's work and with the account
Achieve targets and obtain job satisfaction of work and cooperation with fellow employees
Encourage and praise good performance and assist staff in remedying inadequate performance through direction, motivation, and training.
Communications
Ensure full communication with the General Manager, staff, and the Director by:
Routinely discussing plans, progress, and priorities
Regularly discussing issues with staff, that affect them including praising good performance and suggesting methods of improving inadequate performance
Routinely identifying or anticipating problems and dealing with them in a constructive manner
Contributing to a positive image of the client
Work Ethics:
Demonstrate high ethical standards in all behaviour
Exercise duty to control risk, promote quality and maintain profitability
Act openly and honestly in all matters
Ensure that financial records conform to local and Australian National Government regulations
At least 5 years' experience with Australian Bookkeeping
Proficient knowledge and experience in Xero
Minimum 6 years working experience in accounting role
Proficient with Microsoft Applications such as, Outlook, Word, Excel
Knowledge in Connectwise Manager is an advantage
Fit to work status upon completion of Pre-Employment Medical Exam with drug test & valid NBI Clearance or proof of confirmed appointment for NBI Clearance
