Associate Director - Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A)
Job Description:
The proposed role will be responsible for leading and managing the enhanced complexity/challenges in various facets of Financial Planning & Analysis (FPA) for ASCP
Key responsibilities :
Lead following strategic items for ASCP:
Budget, Forecasts, Strategy Plan,
Business cases,
Quote Billing rates for ASCP services,
Complex analyses around rebate, effective billing rates,
Cost control accountability / Profitability of business verticals
Come up with insights which will help drive business outcomes
Responsible for providing strategic advice to ASCP Leadership team on P&L, revenue, expenses, billing rates, forecasts, budgets.
Lead budget, forecast and Strategy Plan meetings/ presentations to ASCP Leadership team
The role also provides FP&A services/ support to other countries such as SLF Hong Kong Technology for project costing, forecasting.
ASCP - C$ 80M budget
Complexities: Diverse functions in Operations, Technology, Consulting, Digital & Data Analytics which require different budgets, pricing & costing, with each having its own nuances.
Works with the respective business heads. Also needs to collaborate extensively with CFOs/teams of respective business verticals such as Enterprise Services, Canada Operations, US Operations, Asia.
ASCP Financials - Actuals, Budget & Forecast
Lead, monitor and work towards achieving ASCP goal of 3% profitability, Cost optimization program of C$ 1M,
Come up with innovative pricing models which meets requirements of the evolving businesses
Responsible for ASCP Annual Budget & Quarterly Forecasts - C$ 80M
Deep dive analysis of spends, forward-looking insights
Thought provoking insights, dashboards
MIS reporting framework, imbibe agility in reporting and analysis
Presentations to Leadership teams, ES & Corporate
ASCP Strategy Plan, Business cases
Responsible for formulating ASCP Strategy Plan. For eg. This year the plan was prepared for 2021-2025. This is a key strategic deliverable.
Presentations to Leadership teams, ES & Corporate
Ideate and formulate business cases for key investments, initiatives. For example. ASCP space expansion is the signature project for ASCP. The underlying business case, strategy, approvals from Corporate managed by this role.
Expense Analytics
ASCP spends drivers and composition, leading indicators, Brighter Way/cost optimization opportunities
Y-o-Y expenses trending with company revenue, net income, headcount, etc.
Develop reporting on Key Business Insights
Report and presentation to ASC Leadership team, ES Finance, SVP ES Asia- analysis of country spends, business growth driving the demand, cost-efficiencies
Revenue assurance/leakage
Identify, idea opportunities to limit revenue leakage
Collaborate with Function heads and strategize road-map for the same.
Rebate, effective billing rates
Lead Complex computations of rebate, analyze drivers for rebate, carve out abnormal items & predict sustainable rebate items
Forecast effective billing rates for the current year and future years to have predictability with regards to ASCP's costs - critical for both ASCP & ASCP's business partners
Strategic initiatives
Lead initiatives for ASCP such as benchmarking study to compare ASCP's operations against the market. This includes at least 200+ data fields on costs, facilities, HR, IT infrastructure, People practices, BCP for which ASCP is compared with the market. Powerful insights come out of this annual study which helps ASCP chart out its way forward.
Accounting developments
Networking with Industry to be abreast of accounting standards, developments
Business Partner for Technology, Operations and other business heads
Strategic partner/ counsel for the business to manage P&L
Ideate with the business on diversification of business lines, increase revenue, how to keep billing rates and costs in check
Influence middle and senior management on business solutions
Enhance Financials understanding and intensify cost control accountability across the organization. Endeavor is to enable managers with financial insights and information to make them CEO's of their respective cost-centres.
FPA services to Other geographies
Provide FPA support to other business countries/ countries on FPA. Currently, the role is providing services to HK Technology on signature projects like Project Supreme. Extensively Collaborate with SLF HK CIO & HK Finance.
Budgets and quarterly forecasts for HK IT projects like Project Supreme, Burn rate-actuals, projected.
Data Analytics & warehouse
Automation Champion for ASC Finance, Legal & Compliance organization (ASC comprises of ASCI & ASCP)
Defines business intelligence data to drive FP&A information feeds and strategizes to deliver an integrated information platform. Ideate and formulate processes to facilitate seamless efficient data gathering and analyses in all areas of the organization.
Champion automation journey. Thought leader on this initiative. Achieve faster and efficient ways of working. Responsible for Financial processes transformation.
Candidates need meet the following criteria:
Bachelors degree and CPA would be preferred
Min 15yrs experience in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis and/or pricing
Min of 5yrs experience in a captive and/or shared services environment
Min of 5yrs experience managing a team across FP&A
Notable experience in a leadership team and working alongside C-suite stakeholders
Experience managing a US and/or Canadian call center is a strong preference
Experience using Hyperion Financial Management software would be a strong preference.
