JOB SUMMARY:
The Assistant Tax Manager is overall responsible for the group of companies' tax regulatory compliance with BIR.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensures 100% timely compliance in tax filings, tax payments and other regulatory reporting to BIR
Reviews and ensures the accuracy of tax returns and other filing requirements
Liaises with BIR personnel on tax compliance matters
Performs tax planning to identify opportunities to reduce the Group's tax liabilities
Oversees the implementation of tax strategies approved by the management
Keep up to date with the latest tax laws and issuances, performs research to address tax issues, communicates relevant updates with other departments, answer tax-related queries and provide insights with regards to tax matters
Supervises, directs, and reviews the work of the tax team
Reviews accounting and business processes to ensure that they are tax compliant and identify points for improvement to minimize the Group's tax exposures
Maintains organized set of detailed tax records of the Group
Performs other duties as assigned or required.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Extensive experience with tax compliance, preferably in the real estate industry
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or with prior experience in a supervisory role
Strong understanding of existing tax laws and related government issuances
Knowledgeable in using computerized accounting system, preferably SAP.
Proficient in basic MS application and tools.
Ability to handle work pressure.
Ability to deal effectively with internal and external personnel.
Keen to details and has a good sense of responsibility.
Willing to work beyond office hours when needed
Ability to maintain confidentiality concerning financial information.
