Working closely with the Portfolio Senior Analyst / Accountant, this role is an integral part of the team, responsible for accounts receivable, balance sheet reconciliation, financial analysis, and reporting.
The successful candidate will take responsibility to meet strict deadlines, produce work in a timely manner to a high standard of accuracy. The accounts receivable element of this role requires a strong customer focus to individually manage debtors to ensure the best possible outcome both for the customers and the company.
Working closely with the Portfolio Senior Analyst / Accountant and under broad direction, undertake the following responsibilities in an autonomous manner:
Make sure customer billings, including both recurring in nature and ad-hoc project-based invoices, are processed in a timely and accurate manner.
Reconcile customer payments, ensuring correct matching to customer billings.
Maintain correct and up-to-date customer details in the financial system.
Answer queries from customers and internal stakeholders regarding billings and payments promptly and professionally.
Produce debtor reports on a weekly basis, and report to the Portfolio Senior Analyst / Accountant with summary of significant events.
Record billings and payments in the CRM system and monitor the progression of projects.
Assist in the end-of-period financial analysis, reporting and balance sheet reconciliations.
Exercise professional judgement and discretion in handling sensitive and confidential matters, including but not limited to payroll details.
Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and/or quality wherever possible and implement changes to existing procedures/processes under the supervision of the Portfolio Senior Analyst / Accountant.
Work as part of the finance team in Australia and provide support to business units located in Australia and overseas.
Undertake ad-hoc projects and assist in financial reporting as requested by the Portfolio Senior Analyst / Accountant.
Qualifications, Experience and Technical Skills:
Degree qualified in accounting/finance field
Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, especially Excel
Knowledge of accounting software such as Quickbook or Xero is highly desirable but not essential
