In the Philippines, BASF has been supporting manufacturers from various industries since 1963. Today, BASF is a leading supplier of chemicals for industries, including Construction and Coatings, Automotive, Nutrition & Health, Home & Personal Care, and Agriculture. BASF also operates an Agricultural Research Station in the country which conducts research, laboratory studies and field testing of novel technologies. Objectives of the Position:
Partner with the ASEAN business leader and leadership team to advise and support them in translating business priorities and organization needs into people and Human Resources initiatives.
Interface with Regional HR Business Partner and collaborate with respective ASEAN Country HR and shared services to provide impact as one HR team.
Main Areas of Responsibilities:
Act as HR advisor to consult, share insights, coach, and challenge senior leaders on critical HR topics. Build and maintain a relationship as trusted strategic HR partner with key stakeholders in the business.
Proactively identify organization needs and provide appropriate HR solutions to support the business strategy. Work closely with ASEAN Leadership Team, Regional HR Business Partner and Country HR colleagues to implement solutions from the regional and country HR framework and, where applicable, develop customized HR solutions for the APA business in ASEAN. Ensure implementation and review effectiveness.
Provide advice on organization design, restructuring and cultural change. Steer HR project management and execute specific measures, support related communication.
Facilitate talent development across ASEAN unit based on business and operational needs, including related discussions (e.g., succession planning, talent review/forum across all countries). Identify capability development and training needs and, if applicable, work with L&D to develop and implement customized solutions.
Coordinate annual manpower planning at country level. Proactively track and monitor business manpower.
Involve in external hiring for positions critical to the business, Source internal candidates where suitable.
Ensure high performing culture by supporting the business leadership team on performance management discussion/calibration and annual salary review. Foster employee engagement/motivation by promoting recognition in the unit (based on regional and country framework or, if applicable, business specific), monitor effectiveness.
Conduct effective HR analytics by analyzing relevant parameters (e.g., recruiting KPIs/staffing situation, demographics, attrition, etc.) and proactively identify issues, highlight implications, and derive actions if needed. Provide data driven insights for business decisions.
Contribute to the development of solutions as ONE HR by exchanging and bringing in business insights, including HR Business Partner meeting discussions, Regional HR Business Partner's initiatives and Country HR's information sharing. Participate HR Strategic Dialogue for the country when applicable.
Promote diversity and inclusion throughout APA, with focus on gender diversity.
Steer third-party workforce management in partnership with country HR teams.
Represent APA ASEAN countries in key Global and HR projects and drive effective implementation and change at the country level.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources Management or related disciplines.
With 8 - 10 years of professional HR experience in a multinational company environment. Candidates with experience in HR Business Partnering as well as understanding of talent management and employee engagement in context of ASEAN countries are preferred.
Knowledgeable of various human resources concept and tools such as HR business partnering, talent acquisition, learning and development, organization development, talent development and succession planning, strategic compensation and benefits management, salary and payroll administration, employee engagement and labor relations, human resources information system.
Possess excellent interpersonal communication skills, organizational and cultural awareness.
Has the ability to operate and influence with impact in a matrix environment.
Entrepreneurial and customer focus with strong drive to successfully steer HR solutions.
With strong analytical, problem-solving, planning and project management skills.
Possess high level of energy and able to maintain stable performance under pressure.
Flexible to travel when business needs and projects require.
