APAC REGIONAL LEGAL COUNSEL

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing, highly collaborative legal team in APAC which plays an increasingly important role in the business. We are seeking a talented Legal Counsel to join our busy and friendly Asia-Pacific Regional Legal Team. Your primary responsibility will be providing legal and commercial transactional support across Kantar's various businesses in the Asia-Pacific Region. You will manage legal risk, ensure regulatory compliance, and negotiate contracts, and legal agreements, with a very commercial and "solution-oriented" focus. You will also support the business widely with pragmatic, commercial legal solutions and advice as it continues its growth trajectory.
Role Description
You will act as a proactive legal contact to our business clients and internal human resources, marketing, finance and management functions, and advise on a wide range of legal issues, including providing transactional support on a day-to-day basis across APAC markets.
Draft and negotiate commercial agreements for clients, suppliers and partners to deliver pragmatic commercial solutions for Kantar.
Work directly with colleagues across the APAC business to analyse legal risks, devise creative solutions, and develop strong, trusted advisor internal relationships.
You will demonstrate a keen ability to issue-spot sensitive legal and commercial concerns, including a strong sense of when to escalate (and not escalate) such matters internally.
You will help drive company alignment on privacy and data protection terms.
Kantar has a fast-developing APAC Regional and Global Legal Team and you will participate in team calls and communications, and enjoy formal and informal training and learning opportunities with regional and global colleagues.
Role Requirements
Legal Qualification
7+ years' experience at a top law firm or in-house environment with a focus on commercial transactions.
Experience in data privacy matters and their impact on business relationships is a plus.
Experience with partnerships and intellectual property matters is a plus.
Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong commercial thinker and ability to advise on business-related legal issues.
Team-oriented and highly collaborative you can create "win-win" solutions across a rapidly changing organization.
Must be an independent and strategic thinker who is a strong team player (no job is too small or too large) and willing to take on additional responsibilities.
Flexible and highly collaborative
Superb organizational skills and ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects at once.
Enjoy working in a fast-paced, disruptive business.
High communication skills in professional English (both oral and written)
